the op went well but the bandage has come off the next day, not 3 as in the documents, do I need to re bandage it or just use gauze and Vaseline?
the surgery gave me a prescription for fucidin cream should I be using that now or wait the 3 days then use it?
My bandage fell off after about 6 hours… rather than the two days!! I wrapped a piece of gauze covered in vaseline (and I mean covered!! As you don’t want anything sticking!) and held in place with a tight wrap of micropore. I then removed this at 48 hours when I was told to keep original bandage on till.
Very pleased I did… as replacement got reasonably blood soaked so would have been messy without!!
After that I kept it uncovered as much as I could. If I had to wear clothes… I tried to wear tight underwear and point him upwards with a very vaseline covered gauze square over the wound so nothing would stick!!! I couldn’t cope with wearing underwear for more than an hour or two max in the first week - 10 days.
Don’t know about the cream I’m afraid as I wasn’t prescribed anything like that.

I was prescribed the fusidic cream but because I got a skin infection at the wound site. Applying the cream eventually banished it. Maybe they're playing safe in the event you get an infection?
I would leave the bandage off now I took mine off after a day or so and had baths just water to keep it clean. I had no creams or Vaseline I just let the wounds dry up and kept clean with the baths overall didn’t have many problems. I wanted the air to get to it I wore boxers it was a bit painful when walking my dogs. Good luck to you
