BACKGROUND
Hello all: I'm here to recount my circumcision experience, taking care to include some details that are helpful for those considering this procedure.
For reference, I am 175cm tall and weigh 170lbs. My resting heart rate is 55bpm and my blood pressure is 115/60. Overall, I'm a healthy active young adult male with no medical history or existing medical conditions. I opted for circumcision because of a short frenulum that prevented me from fully retracting my foreskin. This caused me a great deal of trouble while equipping condoms.
The procedure cost me $2,000 CAD. The doctor used the Mogen Clamp technique for the circumcision (stretch foreskin past the glans, secure the foreskin with a metal clamp, then cut off the foreskin) followed with skin glue for wound closure. The doctor also used local anesthesia, which involved several needles going into the base of my penis (only slightly discomforting).
The entire procedure took about 45min. I felt no pain at all thanks to the anesthesia. The doctor instructed me to change the bandages after 24hr and shower after the 3rd day. A topical antibacterial cream was to be used for a week. The most eventful changes happened within a week of the circumcision.
POST-OP RECOVERY
Days 1 and 2 were relatively painless because my penis could not get erect at night.
Day 3 was when the swelling began and I started having nighttime erections.
Day 4 was the worst due to frequent nighttime erections that kept me up. I have a relatively small flaccid penis that enlarges quite a bit when erect, especially in girth; thus, I was in a great deal of discomfort. Luckily, the skin glue and bandaging held up well. I consistently changed bandages and applied the topical antibacterial cream to the bandages before wrapping them around my penis.
Day 5 was my first shower. I feared getting my penis wet, so I covered my penis with food wrap and secured the wrap with elastic bands. At this time, I was still changing bandages and using the cream; the pain has subsided by about 40% but the swelling was in full force. The remaining inner foreskin left from the circumcision had swelled so much to form a donut-shaped ring around my glans. Fortunately, I saw no signs of infection.
Day 11 was when I stopped bandaging my penis since the wound had closed fully. A new issue arose: my glans was sensitive. I bought three foreskin covers for my penis to ease my transition to having my glans rub against my underwear.
Day 30 was when I stopped wearing the penis covers because my glans had become comfortable enough to rub against my underwear. During this time, another issue arose: the circumcision wound had formed a scar, which was tight; every time I got erect, the tight scar tissue would choke my penis like an elastic band. This caused me discomfort but was not severe enough to cause pain. The donut-ring swelling has also started to subside.
Day 90 was when I finally began to see the scar tissue softening. My erections are more confident now since the scar tissue no longer choked my shaft.
Day 150: the scar tissue has yet to be fully stretchable like normal skin, but the scar tissue has come a long way to the point where erections are completely fine and enjoyable. The swelling has disappeared.
SEXUAL EXPERIENCE
I have a very sensitive penis even when I was uncircumcised. Just touching the foreskin stimulated me intensely. Masturbating the glans directly took me a few days to get used to. The main problem was the lack of lubrication from the foreskin. I resorted to using coconut oil. Sometimes, I just improvised with my precum, but precum dries up too fast, so using coconut oil was best.
I found that reaching orgasm with my uncircumcised penis was a linear progression: the feeling of pleasure builds up in a consistent upward slope till ejaculation. Reaching orgasm with my circumcised penis was more of an exponential progression: the feeling of pleasure takes a bit longer to build up in exchange for a much more intense ejaculation. This is due to my glans being directly stimulated while ejaculating. My body would involuntarily quiver from me rubbing the glans while ejaculating; this was something that did not happen with my uncircumcised penis.
In summary, the uncircumcised penis took less effort to unload but felt less pleasurable. The circumcised penis took more effort to unload but felt more pleasurable. The difference in effort is not substantial (average uncircumcised time was 10min; average circumcised time is 13min).
For bedroom activities, my partner found that a circumcised penis felt better for her. She emphasized that the circumcised penis' appearance was much better. She also stated that the circumcised penis was easier to work with, including the absence of odors from the foreskin. She felt more friction but was not discomforted; on the contrary, she felt more pleasure from the increased friction. To be safe, I used more artificial lubricant than when I was uncircumcised.
TAKE-AWAYS
My circumcision took five months to fully recover due to the tight scar tissue. The wound healed within two weeks, but returning to "normalcy" took much longer: months in fact.
I am very satisfied with the procedure since I have gained a more pleasurable penis in exchange for feeling some discomfort for a few weeks and for $2,000 CAD.
