Covered glans after circumcision

Hi guys,

I had my circumcision done on 1st August; I had a pressure dressing applied for 48 hours (well, 45 as that was when my folks were out and I could have the salt bath recommended for removing the dressing). I do not know what method they used (the website says they use the "traditional surgical technique", they don't say dorsal slit or sleeve technique) but I had a kind of red 'ring' behind the base of my glans and the stitched part was behind this. (Note: the ring was my own skin, not a device.) When I got the dressing off, the glans was exposed.

The Friday after, I had a driving job (the first job I did following the procedure) which involved a 90 mile drive there and back (I drive big trucks, artics/semis) and helping load the goods onto the trailer using a pallet roller. When I stopped for a break on the way back, I went to the toilet and found that my glans was now mostly concealed which it had not been when I showered that morning. Basically the end was visible but not much else and I could get it out but that involves pulling on the penis which hurt, as the wound is nowhere near healed. The 'ring' I mentioned had been very swollen and would brush against my legs when I sat down, but now the swelling had disappeared.

I contacted the doctor whose team did the circumcision and he said that was nothing to worry about, that the "glans can be covered if you have sunken like penis", which is not something they mentioned to me at the time of the surgery, that "things like this will happen" and to let it heal. I had had a few erections but nothing major; they hurt, I did not *try* to get erect and TBH sex or anything to do with it has been the furthest thing from my mind since this.

Is he right? Does this thing happen often and will it rectify itself during the healing process? I didn't pay £400 for basically an injury to my penis which doesn't even have the desired effect.

It's early days and will still be a bit swollen. It will improve a lot yet and a bit soon to say how much exposure there will be.

Had my operation on the same day, mine was a forced one due to phimosis. I have had a bit of a nightmare with mine (see my posts) but my glands are still covered by the skin too, I think I may suffer with sunken like symptons however, I have a follow up at 1pm today so hoping to get some answers. Its not been a happy experience for me so far, the complete opposite in all honesty

That's why you are having complications, you had this procedure late in life when. Your body doesn't heal well,,,I always discourage adult circumsion but since you had it for medical reasons, just be a little more patient with the healing process and always followup with your doctor

Sounds like you're a grower witha loose cut.

Your penis is in retreat and the swelling of the shaft skin pushed over the glans.

The bandages were holding things in place for you.

When the swelling goes down you more than likely will have the glans exposed again. Just with the skin bunching up a bit behind the glans. Worst case scenario you will have the corona covered when flaccid only. You can train it to stay back completely.

Give everything time to heal and do the salt baths a few times a day.
