Election during sleep after circumcision

I’m now on 5th day after circumcision, but I am hardly getting enough sleep now , I keep getting random erections at night although I have not watched anything sexually, it’s really bothering me to sleep cuz it hurts when it’s erected. Anyone got advices?

Night time erections are natural and unavoidable. The tightness will eventually ease. I always found that if you brought the remaining skin a bit closer to the head it reduces the stretching of the stitches and helps with the pain until the erection goes.

It is really annoying , it doesn’t usually happen until I got a circumcision, it’s really bothering me I wake up in the middle of night like couple times

Yes I had it after my circ, it was the biggest issue I had as it reduced me sleep down to 3-4 hours a night for a couple of weeks, and penis sore every morning after the repeated erections.

Bad news is nothing seemed to stop it & I tried all the recommendations on here from ice to sleeping in foetal position.

Good news is it does gradually relent, so I’m on day 25 now post op & I’m 95% back to sleeping normally, no more discomfort from them. Improvement started towards end of week 2 for me.

Hi Gojo yeah not much you can do it's natural to have them it will get better after the first week or two. Try to sleep in the fetal position with your knees bent forward don't drink much before bed and make sure to pee before bed. Also Sudafed can help to reduce erections as well.

I too, after my circ, it reduced me to sleep something like 3 hours a night for the first days, after aweek it became better. The penis sore, after the repeated erections, it is part of the deal

As others have explained nocturnal erections are normal. You are having sleepless nights due to heightened sensitivity of the exposed glans (penis head), the pain from the circumcision scar, and the tightness either on the circumference of the scar or the lateral pulling of the skin (or both).

Nocturnal erections are normal - they are due to the body being in a more calm relaxed state and also due to desire to urinate. Painful erections is something that almost everyone experiences after the procedure.

Erections can be reduced by urinating and reducing desire to pee overnight. So drinking less water before bed will reduce your desire to urinate overnight which will reduce erections to some extent. Erections are also caused to additional sensation which is normal now due to fully exposed glans. Usually this is addressed by the doctor by applying a self adhering compression wrap over the bandage on the scar which covers most of the penile shaft - not sure if your doctor did this. The other thing is to wear a well fitting underwear (briefs or boxer briefs) and keeping your penis upwards against your torso pointing to your belly button. This will avoid some of the random rubbing against your clothes which could cause the sensation and lead to erections.

Sleep as early as possible i sleep 9 pm and wake up time 4 am because after 4 pm if i try to sleep then every 10 min big erection come in night also every one hour i wake up due to big erection ..
