Just got my circumcision done and I'm on day 4 today, was wondering on how to sleep(position) and how to avoid having a swellen penis?

1. If you get an erection whilst in bed *then* lying on your side and drawing up your knees to assume the fetal position will reduce tension on the wound. It doesn't stop erections but your skin in that area is slacker when sitting than when standing ;)

2. By keeping your penis pointing upwards (towards your stomach) as much as possible will help prevent any build up of fluid, i.e. it will drain and avoid swelling. You appear to have minimal stitching which I think might also help.

PS. You don’t need a jockstrap (are they still sold even?) the briefs or trunks in your photo are enough to support your junk and stop it moving around too much.

Hi Man, as the guys have suggested sleeping on your side with your knees up towards your tummy will help with night-time erections and make sure to empty your bladder before you go to bed. And the wet Ice Cube for the swelling and your boxer briefs although you might find sleeping naked might be more comfortable. To keep infection away use some salted water to wash and soak and will help to dissolve the stitches.

Tight pants and boring thoughts worked for me.

O, and if you have a Mrs don't let her wear sexy nightclothes !

I'm in my 2nd week of recovery and from my experience sleeping on my side was awkward & painful the first week even thought it did help control(not stop) the erections, so I slept on my back with my penis facing towards my stomach. I used a very cold wet cloth to help with the pain of erections. Forget about wearing any type of underwear for now and just be loose for the next few weeks. Best to stay naked Indoors the air will dry you out nicely especially after a salt wash.

I'm naturally a side-sleeper, so for me fetal position was the way to go - especially that first week. I concur with the advice to do your best to completely empty your bladder just before bed.

I'm on my 5th day and I dunno how to sleep. I've seen here that sleeping on the side like the fetal position is good for avoiding night erections, but idk where to lean my penis to. Does it need to be upwards or just leave it loose?
