When can i shower after circumcision?

Hello everyone! Im on my 2nd week post op, i got the stapler procedure done, my healing is doing well. I have self cleaned the wound several times and wraped my penis with gauze after. I started carefully washing my body with a towel and soap but had never taken a shower. I would really like to shower again because im starting to feel my balls getting sticky maybe from sweat or because i havent properly shower. If you guys can tell me when you started showering with no problem would be nice! Thank you

Hi, I too got it 5 days back, but bathing is not an issue. Just take the normal bath and nothing will happen.

Thank you for your reply! After i bath, should i put some gauze back or just leave it uncover?

Put the gauge and tie it up with normal surgical tape.This will protect the frenulum and apply some coconut oil on the top and at the ring/stitches.

You should of been informed by your doctor or the surgeon In question but really you should not be getting that area wet until your 3rd day. If you have a bandage on then do not remove it until your third day in the bath of salt water. Use a jug of clean fresh salty water pour all over the penis taking care. Then pour fresh clean water with no salt get out get a hair dryer on it then boom apply Vaseline and bandages with a gauze with medical tape. After your third day have quick showers to keep it clean and tidy. Don’t mess with it and keep it well cleaned and dried. Good luck on your recovery. Always remember keep it clean it’s a must

Thank you for your reply! Yes i was informed but im currently in China so i didnt understand very well his instructions i understood that i couldnt have the bandages wet but did know until when. I started showering from the first reply and i dry it with blower and wrap it after. Thank you for the help!

Here in Nordic you can have a shower 24-48 hrs post-op, if there is no bleeding anymore. Just do it.

Dry incision site carefully after shower with clean cloth or hair dryer. Apply petroleum jelly on incision line and wrap it on a gauze until the wound is healed and there is no discharge anymore.

I also had warts, which was removed alongside the circ, now i have still some wounds that are fresh, i tried applying some medicine they gave me but it keeps its too wet and it sticks to the gauze so i dont apply it anymore, every other spots are dry. Thank you for your reply! My stiches are also coming off so i guess its a good sign, have one that felt halfway because the end still attached, i will leave there until it fall completly.

There are low-adherent dressing and gauzes available. They won't stick to wound and you can take/cut that amount of it what is needed to cover incision area.

Thank you! I got some similar. Last night when i was showering, some of the scaps felt, but the clips are still in there, do they disolve or fall off on its own or do i have to remove them manually? The incision seems healed and the clips looks like they are stuck inside my penis. Some clips felt alongside the scaps. Thank you!
