Kindly advise, when should one start expecting stitches to be completely fallen off or gone, reason being I cannot walk or sit properly be it driving or when I’m at work cos they are sharp and kinda poke my glan then I feel pain. I’m an HR personnel, imagine the discomfort I’m feeling while interviewing a candidate. Sometimes I run to the loo and wrap my penis with a small tissue to prevent the stitches from touches against my thigh and the gland which is when the pain happens. Thanks to all those sharing their experience we are learning from one another, this makes me feel at eas knowing that I’m not alone.

If absorbable sutures about 2 weeks they dissolve. Try getting some gauze it’s much better than work toilet roll, unless your work has a luxury brand of paper!
Anyone who had a circumcision & sutures used, we all had same problems. Most “dissolvable “ break apart 10-14 days. I did not pull at them. Please do not. They will usually fall out in shower or gently cleansing. I did have itching and tried to wear tight underwear to keep penis in place and avoid the sutures rubbing against anything. I did not “trim” mine. That is your choice, check with Dr-best of luck
Unfortunately my Dr advised me not cover it as it will heal quicker, the toilet roll part is just a quick fix when I’m with other people. When I’m home 100% of the time I’m always naked and I’ve found that the ointment I was given makes the stitches soft.
Whatever works for you-I /we try to offer our support and personal experiences. You will be fine
I know just what you mean. As you’ve had you’re stitches for a week now you should be OK to trim the trailing ends (the prickly bits) and just leave the knots.
Just to manage your expectations, the stitches may take three to five weeks to drop off.
I would assume my stitches are dissolvable as well judging by the look cos they are changing color to a more rusty one and then are getting much thinner then they were on day 1 post surgery. Thanks.
My doctor told me too an open wound heals quicker but I still kept my wound wrapped in gauze for two weeks post surgery because of the same issue. Stitches will dissolve, give it time and don’t worry too much about it.
