I'm getting circumcised. Please Help

I'm 18, and for tight frenulum, I'm going to be being circumcised in May with the sleeve resection method.

- can someone explain the method to me.

- can someone briefly explain the journey of healing...timeline etc.

- I'm scared that ill end up 'short' after the surgery when not erect...I have read and seen pictures of circumcised penis's which have a cut-line close to the head, and this results in a restricted erection...can someone help me how to avoid this happening? or does it stretch-out after surgery.

- Any other tips and tricks would really help me out!

I would be thankful of all and any responses :)

You can take a look this booklet by WHO: who.int/hiv/pub/malecircumc...

If you just have a tight frenulum. The problem can be solved without circumcision.

Take a look this quite objective site and find out what a term 'frenulum breve' means.

male-initiation.net

Correction methods are:

lenghtening frenulum > frenuloplasty

removing frenulum > frenulectomy

Why are you having a circumcision for a tight frenulum? It would not normally be the solution to that problem.

If you only have a tight frenulum why don’t you get a frenuloplasty or a frenulectomy instead of a full circumcision? That way you won’t have to worry about getting your foreskin removed etc. You will also keep most of your sensitivity.

What country are you from as you need to watch that your urologist is not recommending a full circumcision just to get more money rather than just treating the frenulum.

Circumcision should be a very last resort.

I'm not sure what you meant about writing "to stitch the skin under the head which will make the skin less movable." If the surgeon is educated (hopefully) he/she won't stitch surface of the skin in to deeper tissue, but connect wound edges together (skin surface).

ZSR-device and similar stapler devices won't touch to short frenulum at all. They are not solution for everyone. I understand they are easy and fast method for surgeon (quackery) and won't need knowledge how to sew properly.

Sleeve method is the Rolls-Royce of adult medical circumcision, if the surgeon is capable, IMO.

I think he is referring to a low cut where the outer skin is stitched directly to the glans removing all the inner foreskin.

I’m having a circumcision by a urologist next week and it will be done under general and is a sleeve technique. After looking into a couple of the other options as they were cheaper I’m more comfortable being in the hands of a specialist but each to his own. I’ve been to 2 GP’s and then to a urologist so am content that what has been proposed and what I’ve read supports the treatment.

Hi there are different types of sleeve technique. You have a sleeve technique which they cut the length off your foreskin then around it below the glans and stitch the remaining skin to the bottom of the glans leaving a low cut and removing all the sensitive inner foreskin.

Then you have a sleeve resection technique which they retract your foreskin as far as it will go and mark where you want the scar line then they take the foreskin fully forward and mark the same place on the outside. Once double checked for length etc they cut around you penis on the outer skin then pull your foreskin back again and cut around the mark made and remove the skin between the two cuts. The 2 ends are stitched together. This method means that you keep as much inner foreskin as you want and can leave the frenulum untouched if you get a high enough cut.

If I had to get circumcised I would go for the sleeve resection technique.

One of the benefits of sleeve resection is that the surgeon can give any result you want - high, low, loose, tight. Tell him/her you want a high cut (down the shaft not near the head) to preserve inner foreskin and sensitivity. Personally, I'd recommend tight so there is no bunching of skin when soft. Good luck.
