Help and advice with circumcision

Hi men,

I’ve just recently went to look about getting circumcised due to phimosis. It’s not the worst case but when erect I cannot retract at all.

It’s been a long journey to finally find the courage to go and get it looked about. I’m overweight, have quite a bit of pubic fat and wouldn’t have the biggest penis so always felt ashamed of it. Hence why I never went and got it looked about until I decided that I need to stop worrying about what others think and that everyone is different.

I know I can control the fat part(just lose it) and am working on that. I can’t control how big it is unfortunately and just have to deal with what I have.

I just wanted a bit of advice on the surgery as I’m quite apprehensive about it.

How long have you stayed off work, what have you used to cleanse it. I’ve purchased Medihoney Antibacterial Wound Gel which is supposed to be fantastic on healing wounds and preventing infection. And really the big question - how is sexual sensitivity.

Any help and advice would be appreciated. Thanks

I don’t regret having my circumcision done. I needed about a week or so off work and I just kept the wound clean and a had to handle my penis very carefully for a few weeks. Sexual sensitivity is great - the skin between my circumcision scar and helmet as well as the helmet itself feels great during sex.

Thanks for the reply and sharing your experience. I’m looking forward to getting it sorted once and for all. Just nervous as hell about the op and recovery.

I’ve been stretching and using cream for 12 years which hasn’t helped so anyone that says it works or has ‘cured’ them is full of it quite frankly.

Can I ask are you cut or uncut?

Once you stop with cream, it reverts back to how it was and stretching the same. Quite frankly I want an easier life than that. I’ve yet to read someone who’s suffered with phimosis have it completely cured by anything other than circumcision. I’m sure you mean well and thanks for your reply but I’m sure I’ll be much happier when it’s sorted once and for all.

More power to u man..Go for it. I also had phimosis and tried years of massage and stretch but finally I went through the process and now I can understand it is a good decision I took with the support of my family.

I have indeed .. by my experienced urologist. Think I’ll take his advice on what I need done.

I just wanted to use this forum to hear from people who actually went through it and their experiences.

What is so negative about having a circumcision..I mean it's a personal choice..For some it's cosmetic and for others it's due to medical condition. Plus when doctors are recommending I don't think we should think twice as we have to trust the medical science. Such anti-circumcision movement will stop few people who are having doubts or fear the daunting experience of an operation but once they do...They can live a better and happier life. I did my circumcision this month on 19th. And I experienced in 11 short days that the pain..The irritation and awkwardness is worth as I will be leading a happy sex life.

Being a science student and enthusiast I know these, but what solution do u have for a phimosis condition. I did my circumcision at the age of 25 that means I am tried hard to naturally solve the problems but it didn't help. So circumcision is a process that helped me to live freely. I hope you you get the argument.

If it's all about nature...Nature demands women to deliver naturally but there are complications when a women have to deliver with a caesarian operation. Hence, we should not put everything on the nature.

First thing to say is that we are all different and the Operation can effect us in different ways.

I had to have mine due to Zoon's Balantitis, which at the time was suspect cancer. Due to the cancer risk it was all pretty quick from diagnosis to Surgery.

I was off work for several weeks as the sight was very sore for quite a while and my job though not very physical involves a lot of body movement.

For cleaning, warm salt baths are recommended.

Sex can be more intense than before, but I find the biggest issue I have is, if I lose my erection during sex when previously a quick 'tug' would have me hard again. Now it is more difficult.

Masturbation is now I think not as good, but that me.

The Op' itself was a complete success and I am happy with the result.

But. If I had the choice I would have not had the procedure.

God luck

Thanks for the honest response. When you say more intense - do you mean better than before or no? And you’ve touched on something I am indeed worried about and that would be in the scenario of losing an erection as you say it’s fine to just tug at the moment but afterwards that’s something I’ll just have to deal with I suppose.

The intensity is better than before, on more occasions, if that makes sense ?

For masturbating I use lube which I never had to previously or sometimes the Wife's silky nighty or similar, don't want to sound pervy but it glides over nicely.

We have to make our decisions and live with it.

Something I often say is -

Once it gone it gone. But if you need it gone you need it gone !

Yes, it may be the only 'cure' but if it had not been for the cancer possibility I probably would have taken more time to research alternatives.

Living with it may have been an answer ?

Size makes no difference.

If your under 50 it seems important later less so. If not causing you pain and trouble leave alone. Tightness is OK. Try and wash under foreskin each week. Otherwise when you pee hold end so urine collects under foreskin for a few seconds.

I attended all my university classes, as well as my physical activities the day after my voluntary circumcision surgery bro. For the sexual-sensitivity, I would say it enhanced my sexual pleasure. By the way I'm 21 when I get cut, just last year.
