Circumcision procedure in a few days - Please advice - it will be of great help !

Hi guys ,

I am very nervous about my circumcision procedure which is in another 6 days.

I have some questions , I read many articles and it says different things

1. Do I need to wear tight underwear or loose - some say if you wear tight you will add pressure to it.

2. Can I walk around 2nd and third day of the procedure just to cook n stuff as i Live aline.

3. I am very nervous about removing the initial bandage which needs to be removed after 2 days , don't want to tear of the stitches.

4. As I have phimosis I think it will be very sensitive after the procedure how to avoid it from touching the underwear any protection adviced like vasiline ?

There is no need to wear tight underwear, but it may help you to keep your penis upright first couple of week. That may reduce swelling cause fluids can not flow easily back to you body. The bandage itself can add pressure on swollen area. The operation will damage lymphatic system on your penis and it takes time to recovery. The swelling between the incision line and glans is very usual.

I could walk right after procedure. I did wrap my penis to a roll bandage. When using just cotton bandage you can use petroleum jelly or strips of paraffin gauze under gauze near the wound. Otherwise dried discharge on wound will stuck on it.

Agree with the points highlighted here. I was also told by my doctor who fors hundreds of such procedure to keep my penis upwards (against the torso) and to snug underwear helps keep it in that position. A dark underwear helps in case you have a drop of blood or Lymphatic fluid get through the bandage.

My doctor also used Self adhering compression bandage over the regular gauze fandagr to prevent swelling. I got very minimal swelling by doing this.

Before you go for the procedure snip and shave the pubic hair completely so nothing gets caught in bandage or stuck to surgical tape etc.

Regarding sensitivity - after I healed I was very very sensitive for 10-11 months. Just touching it a little rubbing of underwear while walking gave me erections. It takes time for the sensitivity levels to go down. But it feels nice. Haha

I walked after my circumcision to the train station so I think you will be okay.

Don’t worry bro you’re gonna be fine. For me I wore a lot of loose fit clothing for some time just so I felt more comfortable. I’ll be honest it’s not a nice feeling it rubbing against your boxers but once it heals it shouldn’t be a problem. If you live alone just go naked for a few days.

I walked the day of the procedure for toilet etc and it will be uncomfortable but just keep in your mind it’s not permanent. Using petroleum jelly on the wound does help. Would also be useful if there was something between the penis and the underwear but that was just me. Do whatever makes you feel the most comfortable. Good luck

Yes, keep it in an upright position as long as you can, especially when standing up, for the first couple weeks. It really does help the recovery

How do I keep it up right when standing ? Please advice bro thx

I kept my penis upright by wearing boxer briefs and put a sock or another underwear like U-shape between penis and testicles.

Go to a urologists and not a go.this group is full of people who got botched procedures from gp

A bit of a sweeping statement

Afcourse I have consulted a urologist and he is doing the procedure .

Personally I think it’s better to wear tighter underwear to prevent your unit moving about and to help keep it pointing upwards. You’ll need to experiment.

It’s usually OK to walk around straight after procedure (or recovery from general anaesthetic)

Changing dressing shouldn’t disrupt stitches, if the dressing is stuck then soak it off. I’d advise getting some low adherence melanin dressing to loosely wrap around for first week in case of blood spots

Thanks bro will keep it mind !
