I was with friends recently and foolishly decided to drink a lot of alcohol and smoke a bit. This was 14 days after circumcision surgery. Not a regular drinker or smoker at all ever. Was wondering how this may have affected my recovery. Obviously regret it and will be abstaining from both for a while. Just wanted to know whether this one time blip will have a big effect

Delay in recovery
I think you’ll be fine bud. Drinking and smoking probably won’t speed up your recovery tho lol. Make sure you aren’t doing it along with whatever pain meds you may be taking.
Smoke, carbon monoxide and nicotine on blood reduce blood circulation on small blood vessels surface on the skin. Lower oxygen level on blood can cause higher risk of infection and delay on healing process when you have open wound.
Smoking is not good for anyone. Here in Finland it is not a mark of higher social class and prosperity. Peer pressure to start smoking is one of the stupidest thing to do.
It's not allowed to smoke inside at home, pubs, public transport, waiting areas & polling station etc. Here <10% of people smoke nowadays and unfortunately the lowest income group smoke the most. BTW, Finland is not a class society similar way than UK.
