How to speed up recovery

Im suppose to be back at work on thursday and im on day 4 right now. Ive seen lots of people using salt baths. Does this work and what salt should i get?

No, it's not speed up the healing process, but normal hygienia can minimize the risk of infection on wound. There is no magic cream or ointment for faster healing.

Normal table salt is enough.

Just wrap your penis on to gauze when you'll get back to work. It helps the most.

Does epsom salt work ?

I really don't know, why one leaflet recommends Epsom salt for open wound. I couldn't find any scientific evidence for it. We are not talking about sore muscles or softer foot soles now.

PS. DO you all lack of table salt at home and everyone has Epsom salt instead? That must be a bath tub thing in UK. We all have sauna at home, but just foot salt for sore feet.

We have table salt yeah. Not many houses in the uk have a sauna though... As for the salt water it seems like alot of time to make it, at least a few days

No, just boil a half liter of tap water and add 0,5-1 tea spoon of table salt. Wait until it's cooled down near body temperature (37°C). Then you can use it for bath in a tea mug and rinse the wound too.

I want to use the salt water but im still a little confused. Ive been looking online and it says sea salt ? should i use table salt or sea salt. Also you said put in a tea mug? do i just pour it straight into the bath or can i have a shoer and gently pour it over from the mug? thanks

It doesn't really matter. Table salt has an added iodine here in Finland, but the amount is so low that it doesn't matter. Just put the salt to tea mug and pour the hot water. Stir and wait.

You can use hot tap water too, if there is no ameba and bacteria on it. Think globally!

The idea of bathe your penis in a tea mug is to avoid "dirty" bath tub until the wound is healed.

Yea mate salt water helps. Just mix warm water with salt. I just poured salt and tasted it till it was salty (salt water). I also had to work 5 days after surgery so just have it wrapped up mate. I’m on day 15 and I still keep it wrapped. When you get home take it out and wash it with salt water. On your days off wash it about three times. One time when u wake up one in the afternoon and one before you sleep.

1. Salt baths have nothing to do with recovery time.

2. And 7 days of recovery should be enough to get back to work if your job doesn't involve lots of movement.

Well if that's the case, It's going to be very uncomfortable for 3-4 days a least. And you should avoid lifting weights as it could cause bleeding.

I would suggest you to desensitize your glans as soon as possible by exposing it to your boxers or shorts. And finally when you got to work, wrap it up with something like non-stick pad or a toilet paper. Then use some medical tape to hold your penis in place (or you can wear tight boxers), So it won't dangle around and cause your stitches to catch on to clothing and cause you pain.
