Circumcision recovery

I’m 19 and had phimosis so I got circumcised yesterday. It was time to take off the initial bandage the doctor put on. It was the first time I’d seen my peenis since, but I couldn’t see the incision line or the head, only some stitches sticking out, as skin was covering it like it was retracted inside it self, like when it’s cold, If that makes sense. It just wasn’t what I was expecting to see so im just wondering if im being paranoid in worrying. Also would appreciate what to expect in the first week of recovering. Cheers

Swelling is very normal on first weeks. More or less.

Heavy swelling. Normal. I'm two weeks ahead of you and have been doing a daily blog on my recovery - circ.blog . Day 2 I was like OMG WHAT HAVE I DONE WHERE'S MY DICK?

Just to expand on my post now I'm back at a proper keyboard. On day 2/3/4 my foreskin was so swollen that all I could see was a heavily swollen foreskin/shaft skin and a tiny glans poking out. Outer skin was like three times the thickness of normal. I'm overweight and the swelling had pushed my penis back under my fat pad, so it looked like I had a 1" cock! I only got to see the incision line after about a week. It will depend on what style of circumcision your surgeon has done. Although this site is in German there's a good description of styles (with diagrams) here - and Google does a decent job of translating it - uroclinic.de/beschneidung-m... . For example, if you've had a low/loose circ (which is sometimes done in adults when it's for medical rather than cosmetic/faith reasons) you'll have a lot of foreskin tissue left which will partly cover the glans when it isn't erect. This is A Good Thing as you'll retain more sensation for masturbation/sex.

Here are somethings you can expect.

1.The dressing will fall of on its own in a day or two.

2. Morning wood would give you terrible pains for next 2 weeks. You would not be able to sleep for more than 3 H continuously due to erections. When Erection happens wake up from bed slowly, switch on lights and walk slowly. This would reduce erections soon.

3.Do not watch anything that would arouse feelings. I didn't even speak much to my gf during those days.

4. Eat good amount of vitamin c rich foods.

5. I underwent ZSR circumcision, all the pins fell off by 15th day.

6. The glans will be too sensitive. Wear loose shorts. Wear underwear only after 3or 4 weeks.

Dont be too hard on yourself and worry unnecessary.

Very early stage of recovery. Sounds normal so far. Give it time and try not to worry.
