I'd go back to your GP - stitches should have done what they're supposed to do after 2-3 weeks.

Hi, your stitches have done their job. You should go to your GP and have any that are there still removed. my stitches were done like that it was like a continuous stitch. They should dissolve and break at the surface I used to remove them when I could. but yours are in 5 weeks the skin would have healed around them, so it would be better to go to your GP.
