My healing is going well, but the inner foreskin is still swollen. Last night, I tried masturbating for the first time in 7 weeks, and it went smoothly. I attempted to use a condom, but the sensitivity was too much, so I decided to continue without it, using lube instead. I’m unsure how long it will take for the sensitivity to decrease and for the inner foreskin swelling to subside. Has anyone else gone through this? Any advice or tips would be appreciated.

7 week post op
Heya, how are you? All sounds quite familiar. Sensitivity can affect each guy differently. My real sensitivity was largely gone by the 3-month mark - I stopped using Vaseline around the 8-week mark and I think that helped a lot. At 6 months now, I'm back in jeans, normal underwear, etc. Keep with it and you'll be surprised how quickly things begin to feel better.
Agree with everything Arclight1979 just said, we've all been there. Sensitivity took a few months for me and I found I needed plenty of lube to masturbate and it was a different sensation. You'll soon get back to normal give it time. Ask me anything you want to know. Cheers
Ah yes... lots of lube. Learn to love the lube. And sex with a condom helps ease you back into it all. Just gives you a layer of protection from getting too excited and going to vigorous.
Hi mate. Yes lube is my best friend now. I'm on holiday and have gone through a fair bit of it. It's the heat and the nudity. Hope you're doing well
Doing great here, mate. Life is largely back to normal in every way. I just never stop reminding people to not underestimate the impact the operation has. The operation itself is simple, the recovery is a marathon and to remember that each month is a milestone.
Any idea how long it will take the inner foreskin swelling to reduce?
Everybody's different but I seem to remember 8-10 weeks but I had a stubborn bit at the top of my frenulum that took longer. Depends on your age as well, if you're younger you should heal faster
Hi, things should be much better around the 2 month mark. The sensitivity should reduce significantly. I am now approaching 5 months and things are pretty normal , however i still do get the odd tinge in the glans. There is still a bit of swelling but not something that bothers me , will subside in a couple of months i hope. Just so you know post the 3 months mark I was able to undertake long overseas travel without discomfort and was back to my normal activities. As people have mentioned we all heal at different timelines . You have got this and it all sounds very familiar
I love reading comments like this, so positive. At 6 weeks I wondered if things would ever improve, but at 6 months I can't really imagine my willy not being circumcised, the improvements in all aspects of my life are profound. No shame over feeling like I didn't have a 'proper working penis', no worrying about my foreskin getting irritated during sex or masturbation, my confidence is through the roof, my wife loves my new willy, etc. I wrote my surgeon an email at 6 months healed saying that his handiwork changed my life for the better in every way. I didn't really realise just how much emotion and shame I attached to my willy not working right. But that's all in the past now.
Hi Tom, i still remember querying you at my 2 - 3 week mark. Was pretty stressed then , but your experience and putting things in perspective actually helped me calm down. I owe it to you and your honest insight . Thanks again and will bother you if something unwilly comes up after 5 months 😀
Absolutely natural to be stressed at that point, it was still early days. I was all over the place back then. I'm really glad that we were all here to answer questions and share experiences that helped. Defo keep me posted - if it's healed this much in 5 months, imagine how it will feel at 6 months and beyond. I still get the odd twinge, but I remember that even before the op I had to move the old chap about to get comfy sometimes... so nothing changed there at all.
I have a low circumcision (6 mm from the glans) and my swelling was gone in 3 weeks. A friend of mine had a high circumcision ( 25 mm from the glans) the swelling was gone for 2.5 months.
Without use vaselain, the hypercitlivist will go away much sooner.
Hi You are very lucky to masturbate. In my case following circumcision some 21 months ago, my penis is dead as stone, lost all the erections, there is just no call. I am completely, totally and wholly grounded so no question of flow of blood, when this does not exist, there is no question of erection and sex. It was botched up procedure, despite seeing so many different GPs and Consultants, no one can pinpoint the cause. My life has been ruined.
