I just had my circumcision and the stitches are protruding out. I am scared to wear underwear incase the stitches get stuck to the underwear.

Protruding stitches can be a problem by catching in clothing. The best thing is to keep them lightly covered with a couple of turns of gauze/bandage.

Also, be sure to get any stitches removed that are remaining after 14 days as they will have done their job by then. Removing the stitches at that time not only cures any problem of them catching on clothing, but prevents 'stitch tunnels' from forming and reduces swelling.

I agree with the recommendation given by roddythescot.

Avoid doing any trimming on the sutures. Not sure about how steady you’re hand us are. Eat to wrap in gauze after applying a little ointment to avoid any of that gauze sticking to the drying wound.

Some Well experienced doctors also use a self adhering compression bandage over the gauze wrap to keep the shaft tightly secure.

You will see this will also give greater Confidence and comfort.

Hey Man, if you try some non adhering dressing they won't stick to this and if your wound is still weeping this will protect the wound. After a few days you can trim the ends of the stitches and if they don't dissolve I would have them removed.

If they are annoying you you can trim them anytime just a little and see how that goes. don't Cut below the knot though that would release the stitch. try keep it covered with some dressing when you are wearing clothes this will make it more comfortable.

With thick cotton underwear it should be fine, the thinner stretchy type material ive found lets the stitches through, very uncomfortable, but ive had no trouble with cotton so far
