You do not understand what you have, a few days have passed, maybe even weeks, but the itching does not pass? You're thinking of going to the doctor, you maybe did but are you still itching? You take allergy medications, maybe even steroids, but it does not really help? Your skin looks totally fine, for the most part there is no particularly noticeable redness, and only in a few areas are there signs of a relatively weak rash? Started here and there a few bumps that look like bites of something, only they do not disappear in a few days, and any attempt to mess with them causes itching so insane, that it really takes over you that you can think of nothing but scratching more? And maybe during the day you occasionally feel tiny tingling or stinging that is hard to explain?
If what I wrote here, or at least part of it, sounds familiar to you - then you probably have Scabies. Yes - even if you went to a doctor and he immediately told you that you do not have scabies, and even if you went to two doctors and even three and none of them think it is scabies, there is still a high chance that it is. And I am unfortunately writing this after 6 different doctors have seen me, and none of them understood what I have. Not the family doctor, not the allergist, not the dermatologists, not privately. Luckily I eventually came across pictures on the internet that I immediately recognized that were exactly the symptoms I had.
Do not trust the doctors! Instead of giving you an ointment for scabies, even just for trial, so that within 48 hours you will know if it worked or not, they will just tease you with unnecessary tests and treatments, various medications and ointments, follow-up appointments and referrals. All this time you will be anxious "what the hell do I have"? Some doctors will be pretty sure it's not scabies. Why are they wrong? Maybe because with each one the symptoms and symptoms look a little different. Maybe because you were asked if you scratch mostly at night and did not say yes. Or any other silly reason. The doctors take a half look and are very confident in themselves. But scabies is easy to treat once you know it is scabies. So if doctors think it's some kind of allergy, or it's due to stress, stress or depression - know that they may be wrong.
