shave genital area before circumcision

for those of you who have gotten adult circumcised,

I'm just wondering do the doctors/surgeons shave the patient around the genital just prior to carrying out the circumcision procedure?

Maybe something to ask your doctor beforehand. I did it myself the day before, because I was worried about hair irritating the incision site.

They didn't shave me beforehand back in March... but I tended to keep everything pretty close anyway. Since the operation I've let my ball hair grow out a bit because it irritated the hell out of my glands while it was healing.

I avoid public beach now straight to the nude one. Trunks are a pain!

I was told to shave on the morning of the operation

But didn’t concern me as I’m always shaved down there have been for years

Yes, they shaved me off couple of hours before the procedure.

I wasn't advised to but gave the area a little trim to tidy up.

Unless you have been instructed by the doctor to shave before the circumcision there is no need to do it. Either the doctor will not care or it will be done by the doctor/nurse when you are on the operating table.

However, it may be useful to TRIM (not shave) a few days in advance so as to prevent long hairs getting caught in the dressings.
