Itching on the inside

It's a strange feeling..I'm 62 and I feel as if I'm itching on the inside of my penis. No burn..no discharge..it doesnt hurt..it itches. If I squeeze the head between my fingers..which will open the slit ..and I rub the two sides together..its like scratching on the inside. It's strange and it goes and comes.

I think you should check with urologist.

it may be urinary tract infection.

I tried that a while ago. Thinking the same thing. I convinced him to give antibiotics..amoxicillin was prescribed. I was relieved when it stopped during the taking of the pills but 3/4 days later the problems started again. Then nothing for months and now once again. It was hard enough to explain the 1st time. Thanks ..maybe that's all it is it's just aggressive

uhmm, I never visit urologist so maybe my reply contains error.

but I wonder if urologists have some kind of urinary tract swab test. If they have, logically it should be good enough to pin point the exact cause.

afaik, infections are caused by many different things.

can be bacteria/yeast/virus. each needs different treatment.

They mentioned yeast last time..I think they ruled it out

It would do no harm to have a further chat with your GP. We are the same age. I have never experienced your symptoms. You need to rule out diabetes too.

Wow..really?..I want to wait till this whole c19 thing is over with or at least under controll..at 60 I'm due a colonoscopy also and hoped that would either red flag this thing or solve it..I dont know. Anyway it's on hold also bc of c19 but I guess I need to go on and make an appointment and move forward ...thanks

It can be a wide spectrum of infections like meatitis , urethritis or UTI. Like the other guys have suggested , best to rule out the cause before starting on antibiotics . I had a similar kind of itch although I had lot more symptoms and it turned out to be Balanoposthitis . Could also be something like contact irritation. Maybe you should keep a record of when it happens like with a specific cloth , soap or something that triggers it. This might help but ultimately only a doc can get it to point for you. Hope this helps !

I thank you for giving me something to think about. You guys make it seem so non threatening and the solutions are similar. I like many men dont go to the doctor no do I like it when I do..I'll c about a urologist and take it from there. It's not a soap thing..I've used different soaps and it still annoys me..but maybe I'm not doing enough to rule things out

No..no pain. I'm not masterbating but when I did it was like scratching the itch. Ironically after ejaculation the 3rd or 4the time it would stop bothering me..no symptoms at all. But I refuse for that to be the solution and really thought it moreso just in my head..a mind game

Ok pal if hi was you I would go see the doc to be sure take care
