One of my sutures has not come out after 7 months!!

Hey guys, this is my first post!

I had my circumcision around 7 months ago (on december). It was reallt great and i loved the results but one of my sutures has not come out yet. I cut the top part a bit a month ago but no luck in getting it out. The suture is stuck under my skin and hurts a little when i pull it too hard. I also noticed that the skin under it looks dark and tight. Is there anyway i could remove this safely?

Get your doctor to do that, it should have been removed months ago bud I'm not sure if your surgeon told you that or not but they should have. If you do it yourself you could cause stitch tunnels.

Ring your GP and ask their advice but it should be done by a professional with sterile equipment.

Hey man, thanks for the reply but im currently quarantined and my GP is not available right now. I just soaked my thing in some warm water + antiseptic and the dark patch of skin started coming out.

Do you think i should cut it or leave it for a while? Cheers

I suggest you not to cut it out unless you have sterile tweezers and scissors which I doubt anyone but the hospitals and clinics do . Would suggest you to bath twice a day with warm water and start soaping the stitch a little rougher than usual . Don't pull or tug at it but ensure its soaped in its entire length. If you can soak the stitch in warm water several times a day. It should have fallen off by now but since you are unable to meet a gp , I would stick to trying this before you try cutting it out. Also whenever possible just go to any competent surgeon/urologist around and get it removed if possible . All the best !

After 7months the wound has fully healed and what you’re gonna be left with is a stitch tunnel where the skin has healed around the stitch , so I would suggest to snip it under the knot and pull it out , just buy some really small scissors at the chemist stick them in some boiling water for 5mins and then get that stitch out , it’s nothing major, good luck
