Hello, I’m 29, I suffered with balanitis for around 7/8 years. I was circumcised 9 weeks ago. It’s the only way to deal with it I’m afraid, mines completely clear now. Any Q’s don’t hesitate to ask.
did you have any, some or all the symptoms I described in my introduction?
since the circumcision what has been the worst aspects of the whole medical procedure?
Have you worn loose or tight underwear in the immediate days/weeks following surgery?
Being honest I have procrastinated in getting circumcised for a long time now but am currently at the stage where my Urologist is organizing a date to carry it out
So my initial and main symptoms were, itching, soreness, redness, inflammation on my penis head & the underneath of my foreskin. I later started getting red raised legions on my head that looked almost like spots. Following from my surgery I had an infection, & unfortunately half of my stitches popped after the 3rd week, which exposed half of my wound. I had a bad build up of sloughy tissue which was yellow in colour and wouldn’t come off, aswell as discharge. I cleaned twice a day with soap and warm water, & dabbed off gauze bandage soaked with saline solution. I then covered the wound with medihoney and wrapped well, this process took about 3 weeks to fully clear the slough. The other issues I had (which every single other person has) are pain from nighttime erections and also hyper sensitivity when wearing underwear. I went straight into wearing underwear after the first week, but many others wait 2/3 even 4 weeks. If you want to fix the balanitis, then yes circumcision will absolutely sort you out. It’s a long healing process but the outcome is far more positive.
Hey buddy, my scenerio looks like you.I got circumcised 2 weeks before and after a week to uncontrollable erections as well as morning erections my stitches gets poped out and it gets swelled, red, bleed then get infected also. My doctor gave me antibiotics and mupirocin ointment after then. Now it is like 3 days I am following them but my penis circumcised wound is coated with thick yellowish layer which can't be removed while cleaning with soap it is much thicker and when I force to clean it , it gets bleed. Everytime when I try to clean ends up in bleeding and Leads to excess yellowish layer development in that bleeded area.
Now what is advisable to do?
Do I need to remove that coating ?
If yes , suggest me a easy and harmless way to do that?
Hey mate. So the yellow coating is essentially a build up of dead skin that’s still attached to your body, you have to give it the right environment for it to come off. So wash gently with warm soapy water twice a day, don’t scrub it just dab it with a gauze bandage but make sure it’s ’non woven’ as it’s a softer material. It’s also the best material for wrapping your penis too. Once you’ve washed it, either dry it with another gauze bandage or rinse it with saline solution & then dry it. Then put a layer of your ointment on, you need to create a moist environment. Wrap the penis with a gauze bandage, I found cutting them into strips & sticking it down with Vaseline helped. & then I wrapped another strip around and put in a knot at the top of the penis & a knot on the underside to keep it all in place. Obviously not too tight though. Following these steps took around 3 weeks for it all to disappear and heal properly. It’s essential it is removed as the skin cannot heal properly if it’s left on.
I had balantis for 9 years and so i went to a senior urologist and he straight away recommended full circumcision and said there was no other way to fix it.
He did a low cut circumcision as he wanted to remove the inner foreskin specifically to eliminate all risk of it returning and it has been a great success.
I use to have itchy, burning and red symptoms constantly and now it's completely 100% gone.
I too suffered with Zoon's, though not for as long as you. They did suspect Penile Cancer so my Surgery was pretty quick. If Zoon's had of been confirmed at the start I would have tried stretching and steroids before resorting to Surgery.
That said, Circ' was a complete success and I am happy with what I have. That was around 6 Years ago.
“Can someone who has been circumcised get balanitis?
Yes, circumcised people can contract balanitis, which affects the head and glans of the penis. It’s important to remember that for populations that may contract balanitis, circumcised men aren’t necessarily exempt! While those with a circumcised penis have a 68% lower prevalence of balanitis, they still may contract certain forms of the condition, like circinate balanitis (a type of reactive arthritis) or balanitis relating to herpes.
If you have been experiencing symptoms like those of balanitis, penis rashes and itching or general pain in your groin area, please contact a doctor. “.
