Hope someone can help. I’m 43 years old and I’ve had this on and off for around 8 years now. At first I thought fungal infection and used Fluconazole and that appeared to work. But as the years have gone on and the last 6 months in particular, things seem to have got worse. I’ve been to my GP and tried various creams but none seemed to have worked. Since this picture (which is one of the worst it’s been), I’ve managed to get under control using a combination of Apple cider vinegar and Tea tree oil cream. I do have an appointment with the Dermo for March but wondered if anyone had any ideas? During the 8 years I’ve had various symptoms, sometimes a white ring patch and then to extreme like in the photo. But now it looks a lot better but you can still see the skin looking really poor. I get this more on the right side of my foreskin for some reason. Also at times it seems to be moving down my shaft but I think that’s only happened a couple of times, including the time in the photo.

As 80_85 % of men in the UK are uncut your doctor's must be well trained in problems with the foreskin. Several years ago I had an uncut Dr that did me a world of good. Yes in the USA here.
I had the same probleme! Buy Vaseline MEN uncented inodore Moisturizer! It repare VERY dry skin in 5 days and it work for me! I put it 3-4 times a days!
Hi there, maybe it's gonna be a good advise for you. I had a pretty similar problem over the last 12 months. It began with a very thin cut-alike wound on my prepuce. Then it became itchy. There appeared some blood. First I treated it with an OTC antiseptic oinment Iodine Povidone (its trade name are eg. Betadine or Betaisodona) together with Bepanthen Nappy Care ointment (available at Boots) in 1:1 proportion. Afterwards I saw a dermatologist several times. He described me protopic ointment - (prescripion drug). Finally, I had an appointment with an urologist. It turned out, it was a Staphylococcus aureus MSSA responsible for my condition, so I was provided with antibiotics. Apart from that I got an advice from another urologist. He is from Germany and has developed his one intimate care products for men. There is an intimate gel and - what would be the most appropriate for your condition - a cream containing silver ions. Both are soothing and antibacterial. I bought the set myself and it does it job. It's really expensive - 35 EUR, approx. 30 GBP, but it's worth its price. I would share a link with you in a private message. To summarise: 1. please try the iodine povidone & Bepanthen Nappy Care mix 1:1 for a few days. If it doesn't help, ask your physician to prescribe you the protopic(R) or a similar ointment. 3. you can try the gents' creme from Germany. 4. I really understand what you feel. Thanks for your reply and the link. Interesting you mention that you had similar and it was diagnosed as Staphylococcus. When I went to my local GU clinic they did a penile swan and it came back as a heavy growth of Beta Haemolytic Streptococcus Group A, but they didn’t seem concerned about this and I’ve also spoke to my doctor about this and my condition and he didn’t see any link. Question though, if it is this that is causing my issue, would I really have had it for almost 8 years? Thanks.
If there are bacteria, you need an antibiotic treatment. It doesn´t heal by itself. Two dermatologists also didn´t see any link, although there was a heavy growth as well. The one said, you need to let the good bacteria fight the bad ones. Another one said, it´s kind of autoimmune desease. What a bull [you know]. That´s why the condition lasted almost 12 months. Finally, I was prescribed two medicines to be taken for two weeks. They were antibiotics, so you can imagine: those weeks made me weak. But after three weeks there was everything alright. The bacteria culture test should contain information about the strain and medication they are sensitive to. I would recommend to ask another doctor for help. 8 years is really long. And this is not about discomfort. This is suffering.
Have you done a scrape? It looks like just dry skin. If the scrape doesn't show anything just try a bunch of different moisturizerers. Is it only the skin on the outside?
Yes they did a penile swap around GU clinic. They said they found a heavy growth of Haemolytic Streptococcus Group A but didn’t seem to concerned and also spoke to my doctor about this and my problem foreskin and he didn’t think anything either.
Ok bit of an update. In recent weeks I’ve seen results using Apple cider vinegar and tea tree cream, but then it seemed to get worse. I saw another post on here suggesting Fucodin cream which I had some, so the last 2 days been using twice a day and I am again seeing a significant improvement. I am though getting a hot skin feeling in my right hand side groin and also a bit of a ache in my right buttock. This did happen a few weeks back after stopping using the cider vinegar/tea tree, but disappeared shortly after. Could this be a sign of the infection (if my case is that) being attacked? I’m so confused.
What you know for sure, there is something wrong with your skin and this must be caused by bacteria. Referring to your post above, your foreskin can be infected without any other symptoms in your body. WITHDRAW Fucodin. As a steroid drug it makes it better for a while, but it may get worse in the longer perspective. And when you feel pain or burning, "getting worse" is just happening. If a doctor says, it's normal to have an issue like yours and bacteria have nothing to do with it, he shouldn't call himself a doctor. Talk to another one. You may treat the infected skin with natural remedies, but it doesn't solve the problem. Believe me. And if it would: Do you imagine yourself to be married to apple cider vinegar and tea tree cream for the rest of your life? Now seriously: Are you able to make an appointment this week?

PS Maybe you could talk to your GP first, so he can introduce an appropriate treatment. Don't forget your medical history
Also and no I don’t want to be tied to smelly apple cider vinegar and tea tree oil all my life! Haha. I’ve seen various doctors at my practice over the years about this condition and they don’t really have a clue. I’ve had anti fungal meds, eczema creams. I think that’s why I’ve been referred to a Dermo.
