Day 4 - Should I remove this part of the dressing?

Today I have removed the dressing as it was starting to feel a bit twitchy.

I bathed in Epsom salts and removed the outer dressing and the blue gauze underneath it with no problems.

However I’m left with a small bit of dressing tight around the ring (pic included). I’m not sure if I should remove this too? It seems very close to the wound and I’m not sure if I even feel confident on what might be a stitch or piece of glue.

The nurse in recovery told me not to re-dress once I had taken it off as it could cause infection, which I know is difference advice to what I’ve read elsewhere.

Should I attempt to remove the rest of the dressing, leave it longer, or seek advice from a nurse in my GP surgery?

Thoughts appreciated. Generally pleased as thought what would be underneath the dressing would look a lot worse!

Definitely fearful of extreme sensitivity now that the glans are exposed though. Other than am recovering with very little bother except I am having trouble sleeping due to discomfort/pain with nighttime erections.

After my own surgery, my doctor recommended removing all of the initial dressings after 48 hours. By then, I was definitely ready to have them off. Did your doctor not give you instructions on when to remove? BTW - that does look pretty good for 4 days...

Any post op instructions? Call the doctor and ask.

My doctor had me re bandage and apply a Vaseline type emollient to keep things moist as they heal better that way. Any risk of infection was negated by the antibiotic injection I had prior to surgery and the pills I was prescribed after the surgery.
