25 days post circumcision problems

Hi, I am on day 24 of my circumcision recovery and it has been a rough one. On the underside of penis near the frenulum I had nonstop bleeding out of nowhere around 15 days after my circumcision. I went to the hospital almost immediately and they bandages me up and it kept going for nearly 10 hours. It finally stopped and clotted and there was a large piece of dried blood that formed to clot it. It’s been a couple days and a large chunk of the blood clot has fallen off (but not all of it as seen by the dark red piece) leaving what looks like newly formed skin that serves no purpose and looks terrible. Any information or thoughts on fixing this would be greatly appreciated. Also, my stitches have not all come out as seen in the photo but I am super nervous to take any out because I do not want to cause any more bleeding, it was literally scarring for me how much I bled. My doctor also said it’s puffy underneath because he left more skin so my erections won’t hurt since the penis curves upward. This also looks terrible except when I am erect and it doesn’t look like anybody else has something similar. Is this. Kemal and will it go away and smooth out? Thank you for taking the time to read and give any advice or tips on moving forward.

Use some Neosporin. Helped me heal faster. The frenulum heals the slowest from what Im told so I wouldn't worry so much.

It will. Your penis have been through some trauma so it’s expected to have swelling. I’m almost on week 8 now. You will notice around the 3-4 week mark that your incision area will get really tight. That’s the new scar tissue that has formed. It’s not very elastic when it’s new. Erections will be tight and kinda painful at the incision site. As the scar tissue matures, the elasticity will slowly return. Gentle Masturbation and massaging is circular motions helps stretch the tight scar tissue. Once the elasticity of the skin returns to normal, the fluid causing swelling can go away/be absorbed by body more easily.

As far as masturbation goes, 4 weeks is generally regarded as the minimum amount of time after surgery before you can return to sexual activity. I’ll be the first to tell you that you won’t be anywhere near ready to stick your penis into anything at 4 weeks. It will still be very tender and going through the healing process. I am just now, at 8 weeks, feeling like I can can penetrative intercourse without causing too much trauma. Masturbation has been easier to do and I’ve been able to do that since 4 weeks but there has usually been puffiness/swelling afterword that I have to heal from. It goes away in a day or so. This is a whole process that can take up to a full year before you feel completely normal again. Give it time. You should see great improvement by the 4-6 week mark and it gets better from there too

Hey man,

Thank you for all of the information and I really appreciate the reasoning behind it. It’s put me more at ease for sure.

You are just over three weeks in. It's going to look alarming for now. Yes the frenulum takes the longest to heal.

I remember looking very similar to your state.

When the swelling goes down and you have healed, everything will look fine.

Hi,

Thank you for the reply. What about your stitches, did they fall off within the first three weeks or not?

I recall most of the stitches dissolved after around 10 days and the few that remained, became hard like wire. They felt quite irritating. Those I snipped out around the two week mark.

Yup! Same for me. By day 12 I had already pulled them all out.

When flaccid the swollen skin does it move around or feels soft/hard?

johnthompson23 profile image
johnthompson23 in reply toJohn12123

It doesn’t really move around much and it feels softish but definitely not hard per se.

U able to have hard erections?

Hey, I am around 10 days after my circumcision, but is it normal for the black thing (like the one of the left side of the photo) to start to fall off? Because it’s worrying me that something is wrong. Thanks

What black thing? Are you talking about your scabs? If so, yes, they will eventually fade away/fall off.

Ah yes, thanks for the follow up man :)

It will heal in no time. I had the same issue but yours looks far better than mine at the same period! Surgeon didn’t leave much inner foreskin on mine so is a bit tight when pulling back. When erect, part of the scrotum skin moves up the shaft!
