I had a circumcision 4 weeks ago due to phimosis and balanitis. I have a few concerns that I have addressed to my urologist but he was just focused on how it’s healing. I’ve also gotten a second opinion from another urologist. My concerns are:
penoscrotal webbing. My scrotum is attached high up that shaft and I’m not sure how I can engage in intercourse. He did say when I am all healed he could correct this. Okay fine but my other issue is the shaft of the penis. It’s like they took off all of my foreskin and brought my pubic skin up and attached it to the head? That is the only way I can explain it. I used to be 6” and now I’m 4” when erect. This is all very confusing and worrisome to me. I know I am still early in my recovery but I cannot see how my penis will regain its previous length if the shaft skin is missing?
Has anyone had any kind of experience with this? Please help!

The erect length has nothing to do with whether your shaft skin is inner or outer skin. The scrotal skin can stretch much more that the skin on top. The blood vessels are still mending and finding new ways for the blood to flow..hence reduced length. Most likely took off all of the infected inner skin? About the Turkey neck...its mostly a visual thing that is seen from a side view. Wearing a condom might alleviate any of your concerns
‘The blood vessels are still mending and finding new ways for the blood to flow..hence reduced length.’ I’m having the same shortened’ erection issue.. I’m at the 3 weeks mark.
Did you have a similar experience that your erections were shorter after your circumcision? If so, how long did it take before your erection went back to its normal (before circumcision) length?
I had exactly the same thought when I was post op but after nearly two years I’ve learned to just get on with my day to day life and not worry and fret about it..it’s 90% a mental thing .. honestly 😉
Give it a little time and you’ll be fine, it just takes a bit longer time to accept the appearance as you’ve been looking at the little chap unmolested for years 👍
Hi Lavenderhaze4 it’s now been 7 weeks since this post. I was wondering if your erection has regained its previous length now? Pipsqueek36 mentioned ’The blood vessels are still mending and finding new ways for the blood to flow..hence reduced length.’ Is this true in your situation? I’m at the 3 week mark and in a very similar situation as you - keen on an update from you how things are travelling please.
Hi musashihayate, I’m still experiencing a shortened erection… I do however noticed I regained about half an inch. I spoke to my doctor and he said it could take up to a year for things to sort itself out. But sex definitely feels different. I’m not as sensitive as before which is disappointing but this this very common. I do experience a little pain after as well but I do know things are still on the early side . I do however have penoscrotal webbing and that does interfere with intercourse a bit. I wish you all the best during your recovery. It takes a toll on your mental health and I am still a bit unhappy with how things look.
Thanks for responding and sharing an update on your circumcision journey. I’m happy to read that you’ve been able to gain more of your erection back. Of course everyone’s journey is different but it does provide other like me some hope. And that it can be a common issue post op that can be experienced. I’m not experiencing penoscrotal webbing just the shorter erection issue. I did google that it can be removed but then that’s more surgery unfortunately. Wishing you the best with your journey as well, hope things get better for you too.
