I was circumcised a year ago, and I have to say that I haven't noticed any of the marvelous improvements someones seems to have.

In terms of cosmetic, well, that's something subjective.

In terms of sex, I'd say that PIV and oral are +/- the same, but masturbation gets worse.

I'd say that the changes are minimal, unless you have a compelling medical issue and/or a fetish.

Regardin your case, It would depend on the severity of your phimosis. But even if surgery is required, an skilled surgeon could perform it keeping the maximum of the foreskin.

See your doctor. Normally you would try stretching first.

Try to stretch, if cannot go see doctor

Discuss it with your doctor, and ask them about getting circumcised.

I hope you don´t!Even in the worst cases of true phimosis, only a side cut is the best, but only after you've really tried alternative methods, like foreskin elasticity creams and warm water bathing inside the foreskin around the glans (this alone solved my problem as it only pulled back at 19 after doing that, not even using the creams, I explain why in the rest of the post).

Although the arguments against and pro circumcision have been causing endless polemics (and I will not go into that), I think you should just think well if you really want that precious part of yours mutilated for good, i.e. with such an irreversible surgery, before you take a decision, cause after doing it, there´s obviously no going back! So, do weigh his within yourself really thoroughly before doing something, ok? Of course, I'm rooting for you not to circumcise, but, again, this is really up to you, after all, you're a grown up and it won't be forced upon you, which I think is the worst that can happen to a baby or child.

May advice:

You can try warm water bathing with a hand shower (take the tip off and use just the hose with mild water pressure) in and around the glans through the opening, mine pulled back naturally when I was 19 already and didn´t even think it would ever happen. Back in the seventies, I don´t know if even some creams were known already, at least not here in Brazil. Nowadays, fortunately, the foreskin elasticity enhancing creams are well known by responsible urologists and should be tried (I advise using the inner bathing with warm water too, but after letting the cream time enough to be effective, obviously).

An excerpt from another good page: " ... Topical steroids (a cream, gel or ointment that contains corticosteroids) are sometimes prescribed to treat a tight foreskin. They can help soften the skin of the foreskin, making it easier to retract. ..."

nhs.uk/conditions/phimosis/

About the topic (i.e. only external use, on the skin) corticoids:

" ... They're available in four different potencies (strengths), known as mild, moderate, potent, and very potent.

Mild corticosteroids, such as hydrocortisone, can often be bought over the counter from pharmacies, while stronger types are only available on prescription.

Read about other types of corticosteroids, including tablets, capsules, inhalers and injected corticosteroids.

So, please, do not give up on your precious foreskin that easily!

Try the bathing detailed above. If you find it doesn’t help as much as required and you do need to get circumcised then remember that most people don’t have huge problems in recovery and a lot of people are very happy being circumcised.
