New here, this is my first post. I have fought a battle with depression since my teen years. I recently retired, so you can get an idea of how long this has been going on.Lately, I have felt down enough to be worried about it. An elderly relative whom I looked after in their final years was gracious enough to leave me their home.
My depression usually lifts after a while, but not this time. I will almost certainly have to go back into treatment, but just going out to eat is a struggle, much less talking about it.
I would be interested in how some of you here cope with depression, I know this is a disease that affects everyone differently.

I totally understand. I went 25 years between episodes. This last one was brutal. You might need to discuss with your doctor about either going back on or changing your medication. As we age our brain chemistry can change causing us to need different medications. I had to add a 2nd anti-depressant to work with the one I'd been on for 25 years. It was a bit of trial and error. Like you my latest episode (which started about 2 months ago) was different from my previous episodes and seemed worse for some reason.
