I canβt believe I am about to write that I just ran 10 miles! My journey from couch to 5k then bridge to 10k has been a very undulating one π€£ with injuries and feeling poorly - but Iβm doing strength training and feel stronger this time.
I have registered for the Liverpool half marathon on March 17th and have been gradually building my distance (slow and steady pace) and set out to do my longest distance to date. 7 of us chatting the whole way, singing and laughing made the miles fly by. Had my water with electrolyte tablet sipping away and a chia charge flapjack halfway to keep me going.
We all finished strong like we had fuel left in the old tank πͺπ».
Delighted and proud of myself is what Iβm feeling right now.
So off to my grandadβs for a lovely roast dinner. π€

Fantastic! What a lovely way to get your 10 miles done. I still remember the elation last summer when I did 10 miles, you will be buzzing for days and tell everyone. Bus conductor, hairdresser, teenager in shop! You have so much to be proud of.
What a fab run! Well done - you will be more than ready for your Half Marathon in March.π Also, well done on the strength training - the older I get (π±) the more I see it as essential!
This was brilliant to read. What an absolutely fantastic achievement!! 10...TEN miles is amazing. Think how long it'd take to drive that far...and you've now run that distance. Phenomenal β Be so proud and you definitely deserve a treat.
10 miles well done to you!!!!! 7 of us chatting the whole way, singing and laughing !!! What a way to run! Are you all members of the same running club? Many, many congratulations to you and all the best for your half marathon trainingπΎπ₯ππ»ππππ π₯β‘οΈ
Thanks so much π€ yes weβre in a running club together and we have formed a βslow runners WhatsApp groupβ for us to get our distance up before the half so the expectation is to enjoy our runs at a slow and steady pace - nobody said βI canβt do itβ we all finished on a high. βΊοΈ
Slow is a relative term! A pace of 7min 28sec/km does not sound at all slow to me. Enjoy the after glow and well done again to you all πππββοΈππ»ββοΈππ»ββοΈππ»ββοΈπββοΈππ»ββοΈπββοΈππ
Thatβs fantastic Dendev! πͺ Itβs a great distance - not that Iβve run it since October - and you should feel extremely proud and accomplished. Hope the buzz is long lasting! ππ πββοΈ
