I hope this is the right forum - Inspired by SueAppleRun, I have finally managed to run 10 miles! (well, 16.43k which translates to 10.2 miles). I was originally toying with the idea of increasing to half marathon distance but I have decided that 10 miles is enough for me!
When I first started C25K in 2021 at age 63 I had no idea that I would get this far - to be brutally honest, I didn't even think that I would get to 5k. I always hated running at school and had not run since then. If anyone asked, my response would be "I don't do the 'R' word!" Even now I wouldn't say that I particularly enjoy running itself, but it's SUCH a sense of achievement to complete a run.

I think it's your posts on these forums Sue - I find them inspiring. I have been trying to build up to 10 miles for a few weeks and was not making enough progress before.
Wow amazing. You are an inspiration. I started running last year. I did my 1st 10k this year and now hearing this from someone in a very similar position and age ( I hated R word too!) , maybe I could do a 10 mile. Well done and keep going. Love it π₯°
Congratulations on the 10 mile run!ππ It really is an achievement! It took me years before I ran longer than 10k. One parkrun from a half marathon. π
