It's a few months since I last posted, back then I was toying with the idea of stepping up to my first half marathon later in the year. Since then I was lucky enough to get a ballot place in the Royal Parks half in October so i thought plenty of time to build up to the distance.
In the meantime I have been running at 3 times a week with one long run at the weekends of at least 10K. Gradually this long run has got longer until last weekend where I managed a 10 mile run.
Now I am only 3 miles off the half marathon distance so I have decided to enter my second half marathon before I have even run my first, and signed up for the Southend half in June. It is close to home and nice a flat by all accounts.
