Back on track with a 10 mile run this morning after an enforced break last Friday and not only that managed to achieve 2 PR for said 10miles and 15k - and I thought I was slower!
So all went well, it’s amazing where these miles take you on LEJOG04 I’m above Loch Lomond travelling on theA85 with just 240 miles to go. And on COGH my contribution well I’m somewhere in the top corner of Russia and we have a long way to go.
I’ve already planned my 18k run in my head for next Friday the HUHM is looming!
Happy Running everyone 🏃🏻♀️

How did you feel after the run? I'm starting to approach that sort of distance myself.
Do you do anything different for such a 2 hour run as against a shorter one?
I'm taking an "easy" week this week, by only planning 8km. Last weekend's 13.2km run left me walking with wobbly legs at the end. No problem at all with the running part.
Hello nowster, I felt great after the run though I’m now approaching the next stage where I do have to do something different. From 10k up to the 16k I have my little water bottle for the 1st hour and then have 1scoop in 500ml ‘tailwind ‘ although I don’t drink it all it stops me getting wobbly. Also good to carry a couple of Jelly babies in case of need too, especially when I’ve finished and walking the 5min warm down. Next week when I go to 18k I’ll get up early and have breakfast and then go out a couple of hours later with all the above too.
I like to run 5k, 7/8k and then keep increasing the long Friday 10k run until I get to the HM for the qtr. hope that helps.
This week is: easy untimed, 5.75km run/walk, 6.5km jog/run, 8km jog.
Next week is planned as: 7.75km run/walk, 6.5km jog/run, 14.5km jog. I have many opportunities to shorten that long one to 9, 10 or 12km if I don't feel up to the full distance on the day.
I'll have to get some jelly babies and hope my partner doesn't eat them all before I can make use of them...
I'm starting to think that slow release energy bars are the best option for longer runs (need to eat them maybe half an hour before they're needed though). Mind you, I'm still trying things out.
I don't much like putting an energy mix in my water (makes it too sweet for me) but it does seem to be a good way of getting some additional energy.
Great progress in LEJOG and well done on todays 10 miles with PRs, fantastic effort. Hopiyou have some enjoyable runs on your lead up to next weeks 18k run. Happy running 🤗
