This was the second time I had run at the Romsey 5 Mile event. Last year it was freezing cold but sunny, this year a bit grey but no actual rain, hooray, and it was definitely a few degrees warmer than the preceding days had been. Took me ages to decide what to wear!
The location was the beautiful Broadlands estate, home of the Earl and Countess Mountbatten of Burma. Two short loops and one longer loop around the grounds.
I was on my own ( SueAppleRun will join me next year I hope!) but got chatting to lots of people. Everyone seemed really happy and excited as was I, then off we went.
I hadnβt quite finished the first short lap when the fast gazelles in the lead started lapping me π€£ but I didnβt care, just happy doing my own thing and grateful that I can.
When I got to the finish line I was hoping to beat last yearβs time of 55 minutes and I did, by 6 minutes! Got the bling which I love, a long sleeve t-shirt, banana, water, chia seeds and amazingly a 6-pack of cup cakes. Very generous with the goodies!
I think Iβve got a daft grin on my face in all the official photos π. Shows how much I loved it. Daisy the cat approved of my winnings. Took me while to get a photo of the t-shirt and medal without her sitting on them π€£
