Congratulations Caroline on completing that 10K in what was a temperature at 5.30 am of around 24C, well done, good news, its to cool down a good bit over the next few days, better for sleeping and running.
Oh well done Sparky. That is such an achievement in the heat we’ve had. It’s been horrible hasn’t it, so I am totally in awe you did 10k even if you had to have a little break every so often. You are braver than me as I’ve just hidden at home or work these last few days! Had an early run just now and it is SO much nicer! High five lady! 😊😊😊
That's kind of you RunWillie . Unfortunately it looks like much more of the world is going to have to learn how to deal with those conditions.
My brother emigrated to Australia around 30 years ago and even though he's Canberra-based, he's had to defend his house against bushfires. The closest got to within a couple of hundred metres, then the wind changed and the house was spared.
There are horrendous wildfires here in France, though currently several hundred km from where I live, and many more elsewhere in continental Europe. I've now told my husband that if, God forbid, we ever end up being emergency evacuated from our home, he's to get the motorhome out while I grab key documents and possessions.
So while I've also been moaning plenty for weeks on Strava about running in temperatures up to 31° (it reached 44° on those days) I'm also mindful that things could be much worse.
