Good morning runners! Happy Friday to all ππ»
Had to take nearly a week off from running due to some massive blisters I got when walking in inappropriate shoes last Sunday, wasn't a complete load though as got back in the gym for first time in ages so had a few sessions in there this week.
Today I decided to run again as Im close to the end of 9 weeks to go on NRC HM training, I knew it was long run day and can't say I was massively keen on going π€£ but go I did!
Today was 8mile/13 km and the furthest I'd ran in a long time, forgot my Garmin (great start!) Km warm up walk, stretches and away!
First 5km was uneventful, pretty average pace for myself, purposely kept it slow as knew there was a long way to go. Could have easily stopped after this, breathing was good pace was ok but felt tired.
Next 5km felt slower, legs felt heavier and breathing was tougher but despite all that was surprised to discover I'd set my 3rd fastest 10km ever! REALLY wanted to stop had to force myself on.
Last 3km felt like running through tar! π€£ Never seemed to end, legs like lead, breathing heavy and soaked in sweat!
Massively glad I kept on though! π No long run until late next week now, just lovely speed runs and intervals π€£π€’
Have a great weekend!
