OMG I'm so annoyed at myself, I stopped as my Garmin said 21.04k thinking I had ran my HM...
BUT Please say I can take it..as a HM?ππ
I Did have to walk another 10mins to home so I'm just going to get over myself thinking the stats having to say HM To believe I actually just ran a HM π€£πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
WOW, that was brilliant, lovely weather conditions.. overcast and cool, bit of a breeze now and then to cool me down..
Felt pretty good most of the way and at just over 8mins a K thought this was pretty good for me.. steady most of the way.. that last two K was a mental challenge to say the least and the burn in my calfs on that 10min cool down walk was tough π¬
But I'm home, stretches done and resting up before my bath..π
Just want to give a shout out to Stocksy I really hope he done his HM this morning..I was cheering him on along with me!! Go Stocksy!!!
Woopee I just ran my first HM πππ
( Just about) π¬

21.08K is the distance of a half marathon in kilometers, I am sure the administrators will award you with your half marathon badge although you ran 21:04 km, congratulations.
On the start of my run this morning I saw a lady easing herself carefully out of a car holding a beautiful π₯§. She bade me a good run, and teasingly, βto enjoyβ. π. Gawd, imagine getting back to a delicious pie π₯§ π€€
I once stopped my watch about.04 short of a 10 mileβ¦just brain fade. One guy reckoned he had got a Papal Dispensation to call it 10 milesβ¦..well done on your HM!
Thanks Nowster π... My brain went to mush at the end π And I'm ever so grateful admin awarded my badge..but what is it with stats that I NEED to see it stated on my Garmin π
The MM was unplanned, just like my HM (and 10 miles and 10k...) distances! All came from feeling I could run further than planned that particular day, for emotional reasons, so I just did. (Disclaimer: I'm not recommending that approach.)
"But.. at what point do you think.. further than a HM is a distance we would want to challenge?"Lol - for me it was the nagging feeling of looking at my 5k, 10k, 10M and HM medals and wanting "The Full Set"
That and a "This time only" special medal for the 2020 MC Marathon. I REALLY wanted that medal
But the insanity almost overwhelmed me lol. Filling out the form for the next MC Marathon -sadly I've had to now defer to next year - I saw an option for a 50k race...and for an strange minute or two really struggled with "should I?"
I didn't - with only 3 hms and one virtual HM it would not be wise...but it was very tempting
Yes it does , I will always remember the support on my C25k week 9 having just come off the injury couch , that graduation run was quite emotional π
I remember mine so well, I shed some tears.. I had completed the program twice before but always ended up with injury.. till I took it seriously, ate better, trained better..and took on board all the support ππββοΈπ
sparky that was an amazing run you achieved. So very deserved after how seriously you took your training plan and stuck with it. Totally brilliant. ππͺ
My first try I did 13.03 I think and 13.5 the 2nd time. Itβs hard to work it out in Km or miles when youβve been running awhile. Enjoy your new badge β€οΈπββοΈ
Congrats Sparky & very well done...and you're not wrong, that last couple of kms is soooo challenging! ππ
When I did my second HM I decided to train in miles so swapped to miles on my Garmin...it was only when I finished and knowing I was a little bit faster, looked back at the first one that I found I'd been a bit short!
It said 13.05 miles for the 1st and I thought hang on a second, that's not right I definitely did 21km....then did some googling and found it should have been around 21.1.
I'd had no idea, had claimed my HM badge at 21km and the kind people on here hadn't said a word ππ
