well my weekly long run turned into a bit of an adventure today , before this week I hadn’t run further than 10km ever. Three days ago I did 12 and today I did just over 16km. Not knowing how far 10 miles was, and not knowing how to change km to miles in the Nike Run Club whilst in the process of running I though well 15 must be close to 10 so I carried on till 16km just to be sure and Yoy guessed it 16km is 100 metres short of 10 miles.. an achievement for me all the same and it was cold running today

That's good going, shame about the extra 100 metres but you'll easily do that and more next time. 👏

So close!
That's a massive ramp up in distance though isn't it? Sounds like two long runs one after the other? 16.1 on your next outing may not be such a good idea 🤔😂

Well done Gentlydoesnt. That is an incredible couple of runs, particularly starting from a base of never having run further than10k before. You are clearly very fit. Pushing too far too quickly is one thing which has landed me in trouble in the past; time out and physio bills!! But then, I am a veteran 🙂
It seems ages to run for 1 hour 40 mins without any company apart from the music that actually ran out and I had trouble starting it again as I wear specs and couldn’t see the display properly on the watch !!. It wasn’t boring though as I did my go to run route and due to it been longer I ended up running into uncharted territory for me!. I will not be taking it for granted though for sure. Back down to 5 tomorrow
I usually have the voice of Coach Bennett or Paula Radcliffe or Sally McCrae et al in my ears. They only break the silence in bursts though; in between there are the real sounds and sights of woodland, which never become boring. I enjoy music, but I don’t need it on runs. I am at a different point to you on my three runs per week cycle. Yesterday was a new Park Run and 5k PB, which is slightly crazy for a 73 year old; tomorrow is a 15k and Thursday will be whatever length of recovery run NRC has planned for me. I will check that out later. Looks to be warming up a bit, so it should be a good week. Take care 👍
Yoy to 73 and a 15k , what a legend , wonderful inspiration stuff that

You are not alone with those stats! It is oddly frustrating when one is just a stride or two short of a nice round number, but take pride in your achievement regardless👍🏆.
