In line with my decision to only run “interesting” races this year, rather than chasing probably impossible PBs, I have signed up for the Multum Gin Parvo Flat 10k on 4 May. This is a 10k run around the Stapleford Estate in Rutland County near Melton Mowbray, with gin cocktails instead of water stations. The run isn’t timed, so you can pause Garmin/Strava while you enjoy your cocktail, rather than tipping it down your front. It doesn’t start until 12.00 (even I can’t drink gin before lunch 😂), live music, food stalls until 5.00pm. A real family Bank Holiday day out! I’m not doing the HU Spring event on 27 April as I am going with my running club to hand out Lucozade at Mile 16 at the London Marathon, but for anybody in the East Midlands, it could be the perfect wind down. Non-alcoholic entry also available!
