Managed to miss the rain for the whole run too which is an added bonus! Back to the promenade today - perfect for the longer runs, refreshing!
Felt good right up to the 8 mile mark then I had a little reaction to the word βFartlekβ used by the coach in the NRC guided run.
That reaction was βSERIOUSLY?β ππ€·ββοΈ
But, I accepted what the coach wanted after a few swear words and pushed my little legs on! Pleasantly surprised that I had any gas left in the reserve tank to be honest - and I was pushing against a strong head wind on my return journey! π¨πββοΈ The prompting has the desired outcome - shaving seconds off of my average pace for the latter miles.
I hit 10 miles and felt like I could carry on just that little bit more so as to round off the Kβs to 16.5K. Can hardly believe it - Iβm still buzzing!
Straight home and in to a steaming hot bath π to stretch and relax! π§ββοΈ
The week ahead is a scheduled drop back/rest week. Not quite sure how this will look until (if) I lace up but it will more than likely be chill with a couple of 2.5K and a possible 5K.
Happy running all πββοΈπββοΈ

Huge well done to you! πππππππππ₯³
So pleased, Iβve been looking out for your post. 10 miles is such a great distance to run. I wonder if, when you started on this running journey, you even considered that you would be able to run 10 miles!! I know I didnβt.
Thanks ππ» so much Jools2020! Aw π€ how kind to be looking out for my post - you cheerleader π£ you! Absolutely never ever did I think Iβd run 10 miles - I didnβt think Iβd manage a solid 10 minutes from the π runs of Week 1 of C25K! π€ Thanks for the π π π ππ» ππ» ππ»
Congratulations! A well earned badge and a fabulous milestone to reach. I remember that 10 mile run - I told coach Bennett what to do with his fartleks round Virginia Water π. I think when he asked the second time I made a bit more of an effort π. Very well done you!!!
Thanks linda9389 ππ» I had a few words for Coach Bennett too! Sneaking in Fartleks - it totally caught me off guard! Surely itβs more than enough in attempting the 10 miles?! π€
I did that guided run. No way was I going to attempt Fartleks! And I had a number of words to say to Coach Bennett, some of them not very ladylike π
Thanks Cmoi ππ» Not too shabby a pace π for a first attempt!
Very many congratulations π ππππ
This is a brilliant distance and still my personal favourite. You ran it really well too so a huge well done. You have so many exciting runs to come too. You are building a back catalogue of all different types of run which underpins ones like this.
For sure have a few days rest and really be proud of this moment. HM will come in time and so will 10 miles at 1.30 ish for you. That's all ahead but what matters most now is you feel really proud. 10 miles is ace!! Really, really pleased for you! Here's a medal for each mile
It is a fair distance! Yet to be my personal favourite but Iβm sure time to will tell. Yes, a few days rest and then on towards my first HM π± Hopefully, before Christmas π€π»
10 miles in 1.30? You have more faith in me than I do! π
Thanks for each medal per mile! Not sure where to get my actual badge π€ but these are much better! πͺ
