First run post meniscus tear

My youngest went to work on a group project at a friend's house today and asked me to come pick him up. It's just under a km away so figured it would be a nice little jog to see how the breathing and knee held up (spring is coming in full force here, allergies are just around the corner I'm sure).

I was quite pleased, small twinges but no major pain - of couse I took it very slowly and just focused on not banging my foot down on the pavement and trying to keep a regular cadence, which I mostly managed.

I'll try a bit longer on Wednesday

Err on the side of caution BIT, better to keep it short coming back from injury.

I did a 5 min run, then followed it with a 10 min run which proved to be a mistake.

Short runs for a while, seeing how you get on would be my suggestion. There is no pressure to do more. xx

Great news.😊xx

This was last November IP, when my achillies was mended, running on it too soon caused my on going foot problems....😐

I haven't been given the go ahead to run yet.😊xxx

Thanks BBR, I will be careful - I did less than 1k and walked back

It's my first "real" injury of any sort and it wasn't even running related >:(

I've done lots of reading, consulted my doctor and am thinking of getting some tape to strap it for longer runs

I hope your foot problems go away soon!
