Got through February somehow,10 hours trotting and not my Jan 15hours.
Have not managed to increased my build up run of 11k.
But hope to get back to the HM distance during and by March.
Feeling more comfortable since dropping the gym that my house and garden projects will suffice and satisfy weekly strength requirements and cross training.
Pleased my supported OnClouds will keep me going until I make a choice of supported footwear by mid March.Fantastic options available.
Pleased also that I have an appointment for shoulder steroid injections mid month.
Hoping to tick the HM distance this month and re write an ongoing plan from there.
Still good trotting for you Tbae, 10 hours are still pretty good. π
There is a very good chance that you will get the HM distance by the end of March.
I don't go to a gym but I told one of the members of the walking group I go to on a Thursday about some of the exercises I do as what they call. "Cross training" he told me 'Alan you don't need to go to the gym, you do and have all the equipment anyone needs' OK I have a yoga mat that my daughter gave me, kettlebells and a bike.
At the moment I am doing THREE things that Ju Ju has asked the people of Healthunlocked to do
1:-her plankety plank exercises
2:-her 10.000 kettlebell swings during Lent
3:- Ju Ju's Magic 10, to run a 10K or to run for a hour, I am a Graduate10 but have not ran a 10K since November 2019, and that's not all, I have signed up for the Vitality World Cup running event, I maybe able to combine that with Ju Ju's Magic 10.
This Saturday morning I ran my 16th parkrun at Dunfermline, not a PB but all of them have been sub 35 minute 5K time, this morning I ran it in 33.38
It should get easier as it gets lighter longer and the weather turns - or at least that's what I keep telling myself! Just remember the distance will always be waiting for when you're ready - it's going nowhere π
Yes Linda I agree.β€οΈ Your right about the distance also.π.I am trying a novice trotting strategy at present, shorter distances on consequitive days without injury.I donβt push for a 10k when I can do 2x5k.π€π.Just trying to get the miles in the legs until I can face upto hours on my feet.
Kept thinking about how I am going to build upto 7hours.ππ€£Still donβt know but the solution will emerge.
Thanks and every good wish to you.

Donβt worry too much about distance. My HM training was time based. If I hadnβt stressed and done an ad Lib 16k run last summer, I wouldnβt have come anywhere near the required distance by race day. Youβre doing great
