If Father Time does not want to run and stay on the couch, well say goodbye to him and you get out on the road and have a good trot. Congratulations on that recent 11K and that 3.5 hour HM 18 months ago.
What kind of advice can I give you for those longer runs? just take all the runs slow and steady like you were doing C25K
Glad that you have given FT his P45, I am doing JuJu's Magic 10K plan, this morning I ran non stop for 35 minutes, enjoyed the run apart from two "gazelle" runners going at sub 25 minute 5K pace who passed me, ouch. π
Hi. Ar you've come so far and achieved so much. Don't get disheartened. What would u say to someone if u were reading this post?! Iisten to yr own advice.
I think we all go through slightly off times... I know I have in the short time I e been doing it. Just get out there for a bit if u can without any agenda and try to mix things up... The mojo will soon reappear. π
No rush, no hurry. Don't let it become a chore so you lose sight of the enjoyment you find in running. Remember to have some fun out there too, otherwise the end goal loses it's meaning π
Oh, I recognise the self-doubt and the judgement that creeps in as we anticipate our big challenges. With 11 weeks to go until the London Marathon, I began to get in a bit of a spin especially before my long run. I decided to reframe them as exploring and to see if I could focus on finding the fun in the process rather than the overwhelming goal in April. And it has helped. I always take photos en route, I try to be a bit playful about being out in all weathers and most of all, I avoid the negative self-talk. I still have lots of days and evenings where it is hard, even seeming impossible, but it isn't impossible. It is just less consistently easy than I wish it were. That is different. I think as long as we keep showing up, that is enough. Go Tbae. Trot well!
