The watch has seems to have sorted itself out and has recorded everything correctly today, though I did notice it paused itself WHILE I was running! And not during zone 2, it was during zone 4 ... I will probably end up resetting it, but I want to see what Polar say IF they ever answer my email. Phoning them was impossible, they just kept saying they were too busy and to phone back later or leave a message.
Back to the run. I wasn’t feeling it today. I struggled to wake up this morning and felt heavy with achey legs. It was a push to run for 13 minutes in zone 4. But I did it and now feel pretty good. It’s amazing how even the most difficult of runs leaves you glowing, smug and self satisfied. I think the weather had something to do with it: sunny, warm and with that mellow autumnal feeling in the air, tangible but indescribable. Spiders had left gossamer nets in the grass that had caught and held diamond drops of dew; just lovely.
Right, time for a bath with Epsom salts and Badedas ❤️❤️❤️
You are doing really very well Flick, although you say that you weren't feeling it today, perhaps that was to do with struggling to wake up with heavy legs, at least you completed the run and you deserve to feel good.
This morning I run a short run in comparison to what runs you have been running, I ran my longest run ever at 61.08 I ran an 8K, yes that's short, about 5 miles, nevertheless, like you, I am pretty pleased about that.
Thank you! I enjoyed it despite the struggle. I think it’s bound to get tougher deeper into the training.
You ran further than me. My run today was under 5k. Even the long Sunday runs haven’t taken me over 8k. The 10.5 miles I did recently was because I saved the training run and started another straight away. The plan concentrates on time not distance, which means I don’t go that far because so much of it is in zone 2. I was worried I wouldn’t make half marathon on the day, which is why I did the 10+ mile run, to prove I could- but the plan must be working as I could have pushed on and done the entire HM distance, though I would have been very tired after
I’ve restarted the watch and hope does the trick. It should be ok. I remember my Garmin playing up once or twice when I had it. They are so sophisticated that there’s a lot to go wrong.
Thank you 😊❤️ And the bath was a nice change from a post run shower. I thought my achey legs needed a good soak! X
Well done Flick - I always think the runs where we struggle to get out but do it anyway, are the ones that build up the mental strength!! Discipline and mindset are pretty important for those taking on longer runs, I think, so well done you!🙂
Thank you. I feel in some ways that I have no choice. Bar accident or illness, I’ve committed to the HM plan, and I’m not sure what happens if I skip a day, as it’s sent to my watch and is a week by week progression 🤨
Well done Flick. Your plan sounds so comprehensive and well thought out, and I’m convinced you’ll run your HM way more efficiently and quicker than I do when I run my DIY one (not a race, just the distance) next month. 🏃♀️🏃♀️ You’re doing brilliantly. 🏃♀️👍👊
That’s so kind 😊❤️ I half wish I was doing a diy one and didn’t have to worry about numbers and loos and routes! But the plan has definitely made me fitter xx
Thanks. UpTheStanley and I have been leapfrogging each other with our long runs! I did 19k last week, he did 20k today. We’ve agreed to virtually run our HM together some time in September! 😀
