HM training week11 day2 tempo run:

50min, 5.44km, av pace 9.12min/km, max pace 6.28min/km. splits: 10.07 9.33 8.40 8.09 8.50

Another disturbed night- woke at 4 and took an hour or more to go back to sleep, so this was a stretch today, especially 15mins in zone 4 but, as always, it got easier as I got into it ... till it got harder again! The zone 1&2 running is still keeping my pace down. I’ve done 5k in 32.5 minutes, though admittedly on the treadmill.

Grey day with patches of blue sky and a blustery wind. These autumn winds bring change. Very exciting! Seagulls were mobbing a group of three red kites as they wheeled and turned, so no idea what that was about, though they had probably all spotted something edible. Red kites’ talons are too weak to carry anything much bigger than a rodent, so it was probably food somebody had dropped.

I put long leggings on today and roasted! I wish the weather would make up its mind. But another training run in the bag and a rest tomorrow. I’m sure humans didn’t do all this training when they were sprinting away from woolly mammoths and sabre toothed tigers, though I have sometimes wondered where they got their electrolytes from.

I love your stories of your trading runs, they are all like Richard Attenborough’s documentaries, you’re doing great Flick😀😀👍

Thank you 🙂 I don’t run with music so there are no distractions from what’s going on around me! X

I must agree with Agelesslass about all your reports of your runs Flick, good name for that, "trading runs", sorry about the disturbed night, if you had slept all night your run would have been better this morning, nevertheless that run today wasn't too bad.

I qualified two weeks ago for the word Graduate10 to be next to my username by running my first full 10K in just over 73 minutes, this morning as my mid-week run I ran my second 10K in a slightly better time of 70.20 seconds, 1 hour 10 minutes and 20 seconds along part of what I call The Buttercup 5K trail, part of that is around a loch, I had to run around that darned loch 3 times to make up the 10K, you will never get me running along a main road, anyway, it was a good run, have a nice day.
