Museum destination run

We had a destination run to the Aga Khan museum grounds, around 16.5k in total there and back. The grounds were very picturesque with art displays everywhere. Weather was cool and I had better stamina as a result. Didn’t need my water or my maple syrup pack either. I am hoping the waterfront race has similar conditions. This last Wed was Intervals in crazy 34 degree heat. Felt like an oven sapping your strength. But I think they are slowly factoring in. I’ve only done them for a few weeks now. We’ll see! 🙂 Got some new shoes too as it is sale season now. Tried Nike Pegasus, Asics Gel Nimbus and Saucony, and went with the Saucs in the end. They just felt right. Been running in Saucs for a year now and I think my feet are used to them🙂

Mmmmm maple syrup pack, that sounds heavenly. Another great destination run with your group. Just think how they’ve broadened your horizons...... pancake run, pub run, artwork..... so eclectic

Yeah I’ve been wanting to visit this place for a while now. I never would have seen most of the places we visited around the city this year. The Maple packs are so good. Just Maple syrup and sea salt.

Thanks Ali 🙂It really is a good idea for groups. Gives everyone some more incentive and a set place to meet when the runner packs break up.

I read somewhere that a Canadian syrup company is breaking into the running gel/energy goo market with some sort of maple syrup product. Or do you use something like that or do you just take the coffee shop type breakfast sachets along with you?

Yes! These are the ones I use. A friend gave me one for the Toronto HM and I’ve been hooked ever since. They are just maple syrup and sea salt from what I can tell. And they are quite popular, selling out of all the shops weeks before a big race. I’ve got a few stashed away for emergencies

I love Saucony but my faves are long gone and the new ones got narrower 🤨

34 degrees 😜. Thankfully it’s turning cooler here 🙂

I found the Asics quite tight and they were a half size larger than the Saucs which were already a half size up from my regular shoes. Mind you, I have not run in the new shoes yet. Thought I should break them in on a shorter run.

It just got quite cool here. Only 15. Quite a drop from Wednesday’s 34!
