Well it was chilly and it was sunny - but most of all it was MUDDY!π―ππ― Now, I am quite partial to a little mud and a bit of puddle-splashing but this was without doubt one of the muddiest, toughest runs I have had on my lovely trails and bridleways! It feels as though the ground is completely saturated and so any rain we get is now taking ages to drain away. Consequently, there seemed to be muddy puddles everywhere with the bridleways churned up by horses, walkers, dogs and bikes. When I came off onto smaller paths, they seemed just as bad and although I like to pride myself on plodding on through all the mud, there were a couple of places today where it beat me and I had to walk just to stay upright! My one small hope of respite on a farm road, turned out to be quite icy in places, so again I had to go quite carefully to stay upright! So overall, a 10k PW (personal worst!) for time π but I really did enjoy this run. My legs had a fantastic workoutπ©, and I returned home buzzing! I think that's the sign of a good run?πππ½ββοΈπ

That's definitely a good run! I bet it was blue skies above too, although whether it was ever safe to look up ....
Well done Sandraj39! πππSounds like you enjoyed it despite (or maybe because of) all the glorious mudππββοΈ Running this time of year is so different to summer and needs a totally different mindsetπ€ Letβs face it, PBs are unlikely in these conditions so just get out there and enjoy the experience! π
That looks a good one Sandra! I had to wait a while before I went out this morning as it was very icy. Even the mud had frozen βοΈ
Oh that sounds brilliant Sandra! I think once youβve run through the first puddle and drenched your feet, nothing else matters. Ice isnβt as much fun though.
So glad you had a great run! πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
Yep that sounds great Sandra! Lovely on a sunny day eh? Xxx
What a lovely run Sandra, and thatβs what trail shoes are for. My hiking boots looked similar when UTS checked out a local but not done parkrun route today. Unfortunately mud combined with downhill so could be a tad dangerous for me. Iβm just hoping weβve seen the last of the rain for at least 3 weeks
Excellent. Such a good reminder amidst the stats that no one has yet perfected a reliable Enjoyometer that beats that satisfied, buzzing feeling at the end of the run. THATβS what marks a Good Run. πππ
Ha, ha - PW that's funny! Glad you enjoyed your run despite the mud!
