Lol I felt like a car with square wheels running this morning! But we have to take the rough with the smooth π€£. I donβt think I enjoyed one second, but running is a game of ups and downs. My last 2 runs felt brilliant, lovely and smooth, why oh why did I think this morning would be the same!
Iβve been resting my hamstring the last few days, and thankfully it felt ok if a little tight, but for some reason the top of my backside/hips (bips?) really felt it. I know why, have been watching box sets during some well deserved time off work, so just did some mammoth stretching.
A man in a motorised wheelchair came up behind me on my cool down walk. Itβs up a rather nasty hill and I couldnβt walk any faster - he offered to get a cattle prod out to help me up the hill! I had to laugh as he wasnβt far off the mark.
What have I taken from this? Lolling around watching tv isnβt training ππ€£. Have a smashing day everyone!

Ah thank you! I have 2 foam rollers, and I did some serious rolling on it earlier, although I managed to fall off it a few times! Which is a bit sad π. Hope your orthoticβs behaving.
Well done on completing your run when it felt so tough ππ» the importance of grinding those runs out is huge! Makes the good runs all the sweeter too ππ»
Ah thank you so much! It was a grind, but I kept telling myself itβs all distance in the pot. Hoping for a much sweeter experience on Sat πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπππ.
Ha ha me too, I find it hard to sit still for very long. I went to the cinema the other day, it was difficult not being able to get up and randomly wander off! πππ
I donβt think thereβs anything worse than being in the cinema when the film is boring π€. Our cinema shut soon into Covid. Gone for good apparently
Some runs are terrible, devoid of any fun whatsoever. Some can be painful. Some are boring. Why? Many factors. Lingering injury, tiredness, life issues, lack of focus, overtraining, pushing it harder (or lacking desire to push it at all). Those issues come and go and another good run is around the corner, anyway.
AHH funny post Frenc the cattle prod remark π€£I felt this way on my last run aswell, but as you say got to take the good with the bad ..next one youl get a PB! πͺ
I've done nothing today, lounging in the garden with a book πβοΈ
Oooh sounds a bit like me recently although Iβm trying to intersperse the inactivity with the evil foam roller. I did go to the supermarket as well, I guess that counts as exercise? Anyway, hopefully our next runs are better! Enjoy your garden! πππ
Ah Frenc I feel your pain. These are the runs we have to get through to move forward and reflect on I too felt I had to put a huge effort in to get around my long run Friday, Iβve experienced this before when Iβve completed a half marathon around 3weeks later - all will be well next week
Ah thank you Over62! Yes, I havenβt suffered like that in ages π. Hopefully tomorrow will be a different story, and I hope your next run after Fridayβs goes well for you too - unless it was last Friday, Iβm sure youβve had some smashing runs since then. πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
