Race day yesterday and another hill race lined up for Sunday. Just got a few runs left to complete myasics plan and then it's on with the next for the ten mile race I have booked for the first week in July
Only one run last week. I haven't mastered running in cold rain yet, and it snowed/sleeted for a couple of days last week. Since I wasn't able to drag myself out into the cold rain yesterday, I did my long run today. 12.5k streets and forest. I had tried some of my mental encouragement last night and this morning, and it worked again! I think this was one of my best trail paces.
I'm relieved because on Saturday I'll be running the 20k distance of Ecotrail Oslo - ecotrailoslo.com/. It's a fun event, with distances ranging from 10-80k through the forests of Oslo, with the last 9k on roads. My distance shouldn't be too tricky, but I saw photos from part of the 80k trail last week, and the snow was knee-high. I'm sure most of it has melted, but I think the longer-distance runners are up for a muddy event.
Yesterday I ran 4 Km. Tomorrow I will really push the boat out and see if I can do 6 Km. And in anticipation of 6 Km being quite a bit, I have planned a shorter run of only 3 Km for Thursday. Then a couple of days' rest, and finally a slightly longer one on Sunday.
