Triathlon training is still going more or less to plan. I'm enjoying my new Hobbit-style double breakfast routine. I looked online to see if it's a general triathlon "thing", and found a blog post by someone who not only eats two breakfasts but also a pre-workout snack!
I clearly need to up my game, so in other food news I managed to satisfy a craving for coffee-walnut cake by adding one to our Tesco delivery order on a whim
I've been swimming in the sea quite a lot, and the other day I was surprised to note that I could actually see the pebbles on the bottom! Normally it's more or less opaque, so I was very excited, and stayed in for much longer than I'd intended. A slight problem I have is that when I get out again I am ABSOLUTELY FREEZING and have to stand in a hot shower for half an hour, and then drink hot cocoa and lie around languidly with my dressing gown on over my clothes for the rest of the day. OK, I may be exaggerating a bit...
Oh, also, I went on another training session with the Brighton Tri Club, we did transition drills - racking up our bikes, laying out our kit, getting the kit on, jumping on and off the bike, running. It was really fun!
Sounds like you're doing great Abi. Not surprised that the sea gets to be cold, it is after all only August! While I love a small dip in open water, I find the idea of long durations of race intensity to be... errr... challenging to say the least. So I'm in awe of you!
Sounds like you're taking all this training far too seriously and putting me to shame. Oh am sure you will do great and hopefully inspire more to give triathlon ago!
Thanks Ben Really I am just finding it all rather fun, which makes it a lot easier to get out of the door - although I admit I'm also looking forward to a little break after Sept 17th!
It just so happens I have a banana one on the go 🍰🍌Came back from hols and found some brown uns in the fruit bowl.
Well done on the swimming and tri training Roseabi 😃It sounds like it's going great. Hot shower and cocoa sounds fab 👍🙂
I was on holiday this week, on the gorgeous Isle of Wight. I did a planned 24k run on the very tricky coastal trail. I had no idea how tricky when I set off all bright eyed and bouncy 🏃♀️😃. It's great to run in pastures new
