Hi I’ve now had this condition for about 16 years. I’m now 64. First noted sight problem when night driving. Left eye normal but right eye not as sharp. After diagnosis I soon lost central vision in right eye and then had symptoms in left eye. Had regular checks at QMC Nottingham. Got funding for PDT and had 2 treatments which they did on my left eye. Recently had 2 Avastin injections but lockdown prevented further treatment. More Avastin has now been prescribed. Right eye vision not great . Left eye has deteriorated but can still drive and read. Need higher light levels to help. In low light settings it’s difficult to see faces. More treatment in 2 weeks so will post then .

Good luck with it. xx
Good morning Lagrene, Have you notified the D.V.L.A. that you have an eye problem? The hospital will not tell you, but the Macular Society recommends that you should. Take care.
Hi there, I’ve just had my first instance of CSR but mine seems very mild compared to what you describe. Did yours start mild and has gotten worse? Have you found any diet or lifestyle changes have helped at all?
I wish you well in your treatment and it would be good if you update on here hiw you’re getting on, best wishes!
Hi, yes mine started very mild then worsened over the years. At times it altered both good and bad over days and I still get that but infrequently. About 6 weeks after my Avastin treatment my sight became distorted to the point where reading was very difficult. I arranged to see an ophthalmologist at Lincoln but they cancelled due to lockdown. Fortunately this condition improved within a few days and hasn’t reoccurred. I’m trying to get similar sufferers experience of Avastin to see if it’s beneficial. As for lifestyle I’ve been veggie for 30 years, physically fit and not overweight. My job is not particularly stressful.
Hi I've had chronic csr for 12 years also funded for pdt. I no longer drive and I'm registered partially sighted. Awful disease I really feel for you. Good luck with future injections regards mandy
