Is it normal for the eye to itch after injection?

Hi I do hope your injection went well, I think many of us have itchy eyes after injections , are you using any preservative free eye drops ?

I find my eyes are itchy as they get dry after also maybe worth taking an antihistamine tablet .

Hope this helps, try not to rub your eyes though

Yes, I am using Refresh Plus. I also started using Flonase Nasal spray. I think the nasal spray has helped. Thanks for your reply. I was so worried about the itching, I feel better now.

Hello, Just thought it worth a mention that at one stage of my injection treatment I suffered from itchy swollen red eyes after each injection - it was found to be an allergic reaction to the eye cream, chloramphenacol, subscribed for me following each injection. When I stopped using it the irritation stopped & I was prescribed something different. Chloramphenacol is no longer used by the NHS eye clinic I attend. Your itchy eyes could be as result of allergic reaction to a medication but always best to refer back to your eye clinic to be sure. Kind regards.

I usually have itching and swelling. My Doc said to use dry eye formula drops..not the red eye one or any other. It helps, I also use cool compresses around the eye sockets-eyelids closed of course.

Best to check with your Doc tho..your case might be very different from mine.
